Jason, I thought the same thing about the angle, but since Headspin actually goes in between the two spikes, you'd have to at least be able to see the one.
If you look closely you can see the station for SV to the left of Headspin.

I never liked how SV was shoehorned into its spot. I can't say I'm sad to see it go, I think it will make the area look nicer and less cluttered.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
If you look at google maps satellite imagery, its for SURE you'd see the spike or spikes of SV from that photo. If you can see Headspin like Loopy said, you'd be able to see SV. There's no question they PSed it out.
If SV is really gone, do you think that by any chance GL might be putting in an new-er coaster in the area. It just seems unlikely that XF's area would be left open.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
It will probably be changed Back to parking lot.

Replace the 40's and 50's vintage cars with modern ones and this is what I think Cedar Fairs vision is for that area.
I agree 100% coasterdad. I think that would look terrific.
I pasted a few images together and cut out what I believe to be going away. Check out my idea of where they'll chop it over here...

I don't know much about GL. Do they really need more parking?
RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
Nope....
Now comes my next theory...
They are going to use the water park side parking lot as their main and sell off this parking lot to developers.

If that were the case, they wouldn't have announced the departure of Monorail yet. The last time I was there (about 11 days ago) it looked as though all the work was being done to X-Flight. Monorail appeared to be 100% intact still.
Monorail is not a major attraction and hasn't been for 25 years. Except for a few of us, nobody cares, so different rules apply.

Do you mean the parking lot?

Sweet - Then they can get rid of Head Spin next!! That thing is a POS. I'd much rather ride X-Flight or Steel Venom than Head Spin. But, if the park can't afford to maintain them, they need to go.
I agree Tim, if all these things are leaving that general vicinity, then there's no way Headspin is staying.
The more I think about it, the more I think they're shrinking that area to sell off more land they don't need. I guess only time will tell.

I just saw that map on another site and i seen the Geauga Lake site and Steel Venom is on the site as a ride still. That park map is missing alot of things. A few buildings, a building at Domnator, a picnic grove at Double Loop, a flat ride in the area of Steel Venom, and some water slides on the water park side, and a few other flats. X-Flight is missing from the parks side as a coaster. Why remove Steel Venom if it has very little down time. If that map is missing a bunch of things then how can you say its gone. It would of been posted on all the sites as news if it was. I know from seeing the ERT for both Coaster events at Cedar Point and Geauga Lake a few coasters are missing from ERT. They dont have to do the same rides or coasters every year for ERT. I know from having gone to Coaster Mania that the Coasters on the list may not be the only coasters going for ERT. They can add or take away from that list at anytime.

I certainly hope that the parking sceme is not what is being planned. After all that is the one corner of the park where they don't have to fight for taller ride heights.
I hate to say it, and I don't want to get too far out on this branch of speculation, but there is a distinct chance that ride heights will not be an issue at Geauga Lake for a great many years to come. :(

Dalefan329, I seen your point. ;)
That's the great thing about the internet and life in general for that matter. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I feel that I've seen enough evidence that they will remove that ride. Am I right? Maybe, maybe not. Only a select few people really know. Until then, let the speculations fly! :)

Kind of wished they had announced the removal of X-Flight and, if the rumor is true, the removal of SV before I bought my Maxx Pass. I bought it from GL because they had a decent coaster line up, the crowds are smaller, and because I live close enough to take evening jaunts. Not that I want to sound whiny or that I won't use the pass, but I may now use CP more and going through guest relations every time can be frustrating.
