I recently saw a post on Coasterbuzz showing a park map for Geauga Lake in 2007. Steel Venom is no where to be seen.
You guys think its time is up too?
I think its a good idea to move it to a park that can afford to operate it. Bring back the old Geauga Lake! :)

Yes, I would say it's gone! I just wish the park would be more upfront about this kind of thing. They should've announced its removal with X-Flight announcement.
I say its for the best! I'd say Dorney would be a good candidate
I don't know how accurate that is. the Geauga Lake web site doesn't even have the 2007 map yet. It says to check back later.

I don't think they would be putting it out for 2007 if it wasn't accurate. The fact that it isn't on the Geauga Lake website yet really means nothing.

steel venom is not going nowhere becuse it brokeing and need this need to stop now about this web site about 2 roller coaster from Geauga Lake. Coasterbuzz web site need to leave geauga lake roller coaster alone.
Well, neither website actually has a say in what happens to the coaster.
What they (CB) and we (PB) are discussing is the fact that SV has been conspicuously removed from both the park map and photos used in the brochures for the 2007 season.
This implies one of 2 things: it will be removed; it will be SBNO.
I'd give it 75-25 odds that it will be removed rather than SBNO.

At first i think it has to be some sort of mistake. It's happened before to this park (mistakes with the park maps). Secondly i think i assumed it was a mistake because the removal of the ride (unless it's broken beyond repair) is a terrible idea, and generally CF doesn't do things that i think are terrible ideas. But this might just be one of the few times that CF really fouled up a decision. The removal of the Steel Venom would be a disaster for that area of the park.
As I pointed out a couple weeks ago, Steel Venom was conspicuously absent from the ERT list for Coaster EXT '07. No, it doesn't bode well. And I'm guessing the removal from the 2007 map was not a mistake. Well, except in so far that they forgot that people scrutinize every move they make in great detail, and that airbrushing out one of their attractions was bound to be picked up on. (Or possibly they simply don't care if word leaks out early.)
If Cedar Fair follow the same m.o. as it did with X-Flight, they'll wait to announce its departure until they actually begin dismantling the ride.
Anybody want to play frisbee at the park next summer? I suspect we'll find a spot with lots of room.

If that were the case, they wouldn't have announced the departure of Monorail yet. The last time I was there (about 11 days ago) it looked as though all the work was being done to X-Flight. Monorail appeared to be 100% intact still.

Come on folks, let's think about it for a second....it's gone.
You know they had to change the map to remove X-Flight, I seriously doubt any park official would let that map be produced completely missing a coaster. Possibly a hot dog stand, but not a huge steel coaster, right at the street side of the park.
Second, I still have to wonder why they'd take the time to remove SV from a picture but leave XF, unless just because it's less recognizable. The fact still stands that they took the time to remove it from the picture. I'll definitely be interested to see what happens in the upcoming weeks and months.

Ride on, MrScott!
I'm not saying it isn't being removed. But, can't you at least consider this:
Your a park owner. You have a ride that has mechanical problems that can't be fixed with a simple part swap. There possibly needs to be some reengineering done. You know it won't be open the entire season. So rather than having people question you every 5 minutes about it. You remove it from the map and put up a sign closed for the season.
I'm still not convinced that SV would be in the frame of that picture. I think it would be out of frame to the left. There is no reason to go to the trouble of photoshopping it out.
Does anyone have a photo from the same vantage point that we can use for comparison?
Also, if they were removing it, what motovation would they have for not telling us? It would make more sense to say, "Were taking it out, and this is why..." That's what they did with X-Flight.
