Hey guys! This is my first year doing this, and I'm pretty pumped - I LOVE Halloween. Quick question regarding training day (Sept. 2nd for me)...do I need to wear anything in particular to this??
I'm supposed to be one of the steampunk ppl in frontierville... Shoot me a reply if you have any good tips or suggestions :)
Nothing special clothes-wise is needed at training. They do 1hr of corporate HR training, then 2hrs of screamster training (if it's the same as the past). It's not till dress rehearsal that you have to put on dark clothes and the costume and not till first day of scaring where you're in makeup. From my observation, the most important part about training is to be on time. I've heard of them closing the doors on people who show up even minutes late.
Ditto. The classes start on time, and they will not let you in if you're late. Dress rehearsal is the first time you need to worry about wearing anything particular. There will likely be some more emails going out between now and when the training classes start that will explain things in more detail.

Woot! I am new here and I have a few questions myself. So if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it!
1. Are we aloud to keep our piercings in during work hours?
I have a few facial piercings and i'm hoping I don't have to take them out,but if I have to..I will do so.
2. My orientation is this Saturday at 6pm, how early should I show up to get fitted for costumes?
Any help again would be appreciated! :)
1- Yes, as long as you aren't working another job in the park. You're fine with keeping them in while you're a Screamster.
2- Is that when you're processing in at HR? I'm not aware of any orientation classes taking place on Saturday, although I know there's one on Sunday. Anyway, if there's no wait, the visit to the costume shop should take under 10 minutes.

Don’t mean to hijack this topic, but also didn’t feel like it needed its own topic. Was wondering if they are still hiring Screamsters and do they allow Screamsters to work one day a weekend?
Thanks in advance for any info
Yes they are still hiring but we need you to work more than one day a weekend.

Solid Screamsters are not in it for the money and would probably even be against making that wage anything much larger as that would attract even more people out there for the wrong reasons.

Does it vary upon which haunt they're at?
The hourly wage is the same. But if you work in a house, you work 7 Sundays instead of 4. Also, on Saturday and Sunday, the houses are open longer than the zones.

I use to hear that a lot but as soon as a "solid Screamster" was shorted 2 hours on their pay, they were the first in line to fill out the paperwork to get those 2 hours back.

Or the right reasons. Bottom line, the fact that the wage has only gone up 25 cents in 11+ years is a little ridiculous to me. Raising that wage might attract more people but that is exactly what should happen so Cedar Point has more to pick from as to not have to hire everyone that applies as they pretty much do now.
zones are 8-12 and houses are 8-12 on friday 5-12 on sat and 3-7 on Sunday and just like any other job sometimes they do, sometimes they don't

At least for me, even on the slow nights they go by too quickly. November is always here before you know it.
