First Time Screamster

Ok I have some questions I didnt want to bother peggy and ryan with cause I know there busy so I figured Id ask here. This will be my first year and Im really excited. I just have so many questions. thanks in advance

1, general information on a typical day?

2, what are some good stratagies or tips and tricks?

3 do guest ever get physical like take a swing or something like that?

4 do you scare children?

5 How to keep from loosing your voice?

6 what to do in the time waiting around before and after makeup?

7 are we allowed to go to the park for free when were not working?

8 do screamsters also work the haunted houses?

thanks and anything else anyone would like to add Id greatly appreciate it. I also have aim if anyone wants to talk there.

Numbers 1 through 6 will be answered on the Sept. 11th when the dress rehearsal takes place.. Have no fear.

7 are we allowed to go to the park for free when were not working?

Absolutely.. Actually you'll find that a lot of the monsters tend to gather in the park when not working just to hang out with each other.

8 do screamsters also work the haunted houses?

No they don't. You get your zone assignment and that's where you'll work. Although, sometimes people are moved for various reason but you won't be moved to a house.

Trust me.. You're going to have the time of your life.

This'll be answered when you come for your training.

2, what are some good stratagies or tips and tricks?

Also answered in training. Look or listen out for names of guests and use it against them, it works well. Go for large groups and get a bunch of people, not just one or two at a time. Be sneaky, be clever. Be fast.

3 do guest ever get physical like take a swing or something like that?

You'll be getting plenty of threats and looks at. Be cautious and careful who you choose to go after. You'll have a whistle, either on your wrist or around your neck. Should something happen, in an action of physical mishap, blow the whistle and security will instantly come.

4 do you scare children?

Yes..pending. If you see they are brutally scared or crying, then don't. Take off the glove, show them that you are real just like they are. A lot of kids like it when you get near them, then scare the crap out of their parents. They'll love you forever.

5 How to keep from loosing your voice?

Bring plenty of cough drops, and a water bottle with a long straw.

6 what to do in the time waiting around before and after makeup?

Nothing.

7 are we allowed to go to the park for free when were not working?

Yes.

8 do screamsters also work the haunted houses?

No.

^^ Fear Faire was my sons favorite haunt. He'll be looking for you.... he's gonna try and scare a few of you this year.

You are guaranteed at some point to get shoved or smacked or elbowed, etc. After a weekend or two you will have a better idea of who you will want to go after and who you will want to avoid.

Be careful of what you say to guests. Sometimes its fun to joke around with them but sometimes people will interpret things differently and will take offense.

You will be worn out at the end of the night, and probably sore the next day. I do some stretches before I head out into the zone, and that seems to help.

Its something that you can really have lots of fun with. Only two more weeks... Im ready.

Generally.. alot of the monsters go out to Diana's for food as we're pretty much starved and too tired to do anything else.

I am jealous. I can't get the time off of work consistently or I'd be joining you guys....

They say to wear black pants. Is there any particular kind someone would recommend?

If by good times you mean sandwiches full of string then I agree.

The housing, honestly, is not that good, but what can you expect for free housing? You can pick your roommate if you know someone you want to live with and if there is room.

Not much. I'm from Akron, I just go home after the weekend.

Don't forget to have fun and don't worry if you don't scare everyone. There is always going to be some jerk (and other words that are forbidden to type here) that will give you grief and try to start something with you, but just ignore it or have a cop stop by.

I'm not working the 26th, because I'm running a half-marathon the next day, but I'll be there the 27th after my race to work. I work in Terror Island. PM me if you have any more questions.

There are some ESD events going on during the weeks now that should make things a little less boring. They have big orange fliers posted around with all the details on them.

For anyone who is new that just wants to talk about stuff or if you have questions you want answered, my name is Josh (obviously) and am always glad to meet new people. You can usually find me up on the 3rd level of the ballroom seating on the right side. So like I said ask around for Josh, I'll introduce you to some people, I remember what it was like being a new screamster.
