Final Stats?

I don't think Jeff would come out and say anything definite such as "it will be x ft tall and go y mph". However, I did notice yesterday Jeff using 122 mph in one of his posts. Seems to be an odd number for someone to pick unless they are sure of it.
See? Now I feel even better.

You might wanna read this thread again...it wasn't Jeff at all. Someone was spoofing him.

No... I didn't use 122 in any post. That wasn't me. Thank you for playing.

How about this... It'll be between 400 and 450 feet tall and go between 110 and 120 mph? :)

Oh cool! So now we have the most accurate unofficial report that the new coaster will be the worlds tallest, fastest, full circuit rollercoaster in the world?! Is that right or am I missing a coaster?

Oh yeah, if there's bugs on your shirt, you had a good ride.

Thank you Jeff for your work to make and run this site!

2.7 seconds would kill you, you would have to have head a neck supports ad even if you did you wouldnt be able to breath and you would probably black out

I realize my mistake now (I too am viewing on a 14" monitor at work)

I have a 21" monitor and I have to admit that ".Jeff" had me going for a couple of minutes there. I didn't see the original post, only Gemini's reply. It took me a few to figure it out. Duh.
Was there an original posted here as well that was deleted? That might have been the one I saw.

You haven't been on Hypersonic at Paramount's Kings Dominion, have you?

Huh? What? Oh....I thought I was reading that old Stratoshpere thread again.

Sweet guy ;)

I was super before Superstew was cool!

Dodonpa claims to do 1-107 in 1.8 seconds as well.

Actually I thought it would kill you too, or leave you in some sorry state till I did some research.

Wicked Twister is originally designed to launch at 72 mph that's 105.6 Feet per second (FPS). It breaks downs to a rate of acceleration of 62.44 FPS

In comparison Hypersonic launches you to 80 mph or 117 FPS in 1.8 seconds. That breaks down to about 65.12 FPS, not much more then WT.

Now we look at the proposed speeds for the new one. At 120 mph the train will move at 176 FPS and will be reached in 2.8 seconds. Surprisingly that means you're accelerating at a speed of 67.68 FPS! That's only 5.24 FPS faster then Wicked Twister. So In effect the math works.

Didn't anyone see my post about Dodonpa on the first page? Anyway, Hypersonic XLC is another good example.

"Too weird to live, too rare to die."

I've been on Hypersonic XLC and it's very fast for such a short launch run. But, the launch wasn't that intense so Dragster's launch, if it's short, probably won't be that bad. By the way, hands up at the top of the hill provides some excellent air-time.

Your math is all screwed up and meaningless. Acceleration is measured in distance over time squared.

Actually, the math is right, just the units are wrong. Acceleration should be feet per second squared.
Who really cares about the math?

I mean, we'll find out when we find out.

Here's a thought, why would Cedar Point build a ride that would kill you? Hmmm... there's a noggin-scratcher.

(Insert something clever here)

Hey its funny that people go off on a rant about what the stats are on a ride that hasnt been announced and isnt finished we dont know yet!!!, just be happy that we live, well most of us, close to Cedar Point and not some other park that gets nothing

Holla!
I know nothing about math or physics and guessed on that. :) It's ok if it's wrong. I'm a history major.
