While Disney sets the standard in terms of smoothly prying money out of guests' pockets (and all businesses could use more of that), there's no indication that CP's more obvious methods are a significant problem.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to say that I have a problem with them trying to make money, they obviously are doing a great job of it. I just don't approve of the methods and still believe that it would go a long way towards overall customer satisfaction to use a FP type system.
Do I have numbers and statistics to back this up? Nope. However, if Cedar Point would allow me, I'd be more than happy to walk around all day taking survey's to get the numbers.
I'd rather they get money out of my hand by providing a useful service than with crappy food or cheap trinkets.

I used a FL on Tuesday 6/19/12. Did I need it? Probably not, but it did save me some time. Time which I spent taking my 2.5yr old daughter on more rides, so it was totally worth it.
I was doing one last ride on Maverick at 10pm, and I glanced over at the FL clipboard and saw that 1300 something people used it that day. That's what, an hour of capacity? I figured it'd be more, but the park was pretty empty.
i used fl yesterday (Friday) grandson had 56 rides all coaster and water rides.he rode mf 7x,mag 7x and others.I think this is a great deal for younger kids that are 1st timers and could be antsy and frustrated having to wait in long lines.
i feel my job as a papa is to try to provide the best that i can for him.
if i have to go without to afford it its my choice.
as for making lines slower yeah it most likely will.
the big corps are going to make their money anyway ($5 dryer at thunder canyon and other gimmicks)
so if it enhances your trip i dont have a problem.
had a great time 4sure

Hey JLinsky.Relax and have a great time and don't feel guilty about that FL wristband. I took my two daughters on a Tuesday in May and we did not get them and did not need them. We had a great day and rode everything we wanted as much as we wanted to. My good friend was there today with his son and he did buy them and his text to me was "WORTH EVERY PENNY". We both live in Nashville and I make it there once every five years and this was his first time. Make it your goal that you and your daughter make memories of the BEST coaster park I know of. Don't forget to give us a trip update. Have fun!
We leave in twelve hours! Stopping at the rock hall to sign sir paul's bithday card, then off to the point. I am so over any guilt about buying FL. Me and the kid are gonna rock that park and ride everything we can as much as we can. Thanks for the advice Ewilson! At the end of the day this trip is about time together, doing something we both love to do, and that is what we are gonna do!
So we are back. What a great trip! Fastlane is the greatest thing ever. As a once in a lifetime trip, Fastlane allowed us to ride whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. Ride count was high, we marathoned Millenium, and Dragster. We saved hours and hours of waiting in line. Worth every penny. No one in the regular line seemed bothered by it at all, no one said anything, gave us dirty looks, or seemed upset. Everyone at the park was just happy, the way it should be.there plenty of rides whereiit wasnt necessary.Magnum, raptor on sunday,,dragster sunday night, millenium sunday night. .even at the height of the afternoons, there were tops 25 people in a fastlane line, so all of you worried about it dpubling wait times for regular riders , i think you are being ridiculous.
As for those of you who have CP as your home park, i am envious. We have one coaster here in Maine, and can travel to six Flags 4 hours away, to ride the equalavant to magnum. the fact that you have a $175 season pass to the greatest park ever makes me insanely jealous. The kid and I did nothing but smile and laugh our heads off for three days. Be happy you are lucky enoug to go there 12 times a year..

Beginning of the year, when they went 100% form Fast Lanes line first and people were marathon'ing rides, yes it was doubled. now that its kept reasonable, i for one dont mind it anymore.
I'm glad to see that Fast Lane is truly worth it on busy Saturdays. I was worried that on these days, the Fast Lane waits would be too long. I'm looking forward to going the last weekend in July and belong able to not only do the rides but also see the shows, which I always bypassed before. It sounds like I will have a truly well rounded CP experience as long as Fast Lane doesn't become too popular in a month. :)
I enjoyed it when I used it. First week, which was the beginning of the year, they were taking 50/50 FL to normal line. Didn't seem to slow anything down. I think the true test of this program will be Halloweekends. I'm curious as to what will be more popular, Fright Lane or Fast Lane.

I don't have a problem with FL but i just have to say that your statement makes no sense. How can they be taking 50/50 without slowing anything down? You are saying they are taking half the people from the normal line but it is still moving at the same pace.
No, what I'm saying is they were not taking all of FL before any of the normal line, which is what some have claimed. It doesn't slow the normal line down to double the wait. It's probably a little longer wait but hardly noticeable. It's also important to note, which I failed to do in the last post, FL line doesn't always have people in it.

The overall wait was not doubled unless every single train launched with a 50%/50% mix of FL and standard queue guests.

If its a constant 50/50 with the Fast Lane line never ending, then it would sure as hell slow the the line down. If the fast lane line diminishes quickly, then of course it doesn't seem to slow down because there is no one there.

And that was so the day I went for Top Thrill Dragster. The front station was Fast Lane only, when they had a line. For the day I went, there were marathon fast lane people, making the Fast Lane line never ending.
Okay...this is kind of an out of the blue question, but....about the FL line locations....I'm going the day after tomorrow with FL, so I wanted to know if there were any FL lines where I have to go out of the way to get in, or FL lines that are harder to notice or find....For example, I went two months ago, and the FL location for Windseeker was blatantly obvious, but the Magnum FL location was a bit more hidden and away from the normal line. I didn't really pay attention all that much to the locations, so I wanted to know the rides where I should take particular notice of.
Raptor and MF are both nowhere near the standby entrance. MF is a bit further up into frontier area, and Raptor is back towards the ride exist IIRC. There are typically signs posted, and if not, the employee stationed at the main line entrance can always tell you where FL is.
Just came back yesterday! Now, they're checking the wristbands for FL dates, as well as counting how many people come in with FL a day. 15 min. wait for MF and Maverick, and pretty much walk-ons for everything else. But well....I felt really guilty whenever I got into the FL line...and yes, I admit it. I marathoned Millie.
