Fast Lane

The park changes the color of the wristbands every day. The wristbands are also dated.

Ok, good. I would be pretty peeved if I saw someone trying to cheat.

Has anybody bought the Fast Lane Pass this year and felt like it was a waste of money?

Has anybody used the fast lane pass and felt like going on so many rides in one day was a bad idea? The reason I ask is that in the past after riding 25 rides or so in one day my body feels pretty beat up and I am wondering if I would be even more beat up after all the extra rides the pass would get me.

I am planning on going to the park next Tuesday or Thursday. I know there is no way to know how busy the park will be on any given day but has anybody bought Fast Lane for a weekday and felt like it was a waste of money because the park really wasnt too busy or is it pretty much always worth it in July and August? I am not asking anybody to play god I am just looking for opinions. Thanks

To answer both of your posts...

You can ride more with Fast Lane, so more rides might mean it is harder on your body. It all depends on your goals. Are you buying Fast Lane to get as many rides as possible? Or just to skip the lines?

July and August are the busy summer months, so I would have a hard time believing that Fast Lane would be a waste on any day of the week. Many families are getting in their vacation before school starts again. It also depends on what you want to ride. If you are set on riding MF, Dragster, and Maverick at least once, Fast Lane can make sure you get the opportunity with time to do other stuff.

From what I have seen, the only rides that you would actually 'need' FastLane on is MF, TTD, Maverick, and the Giant Wheel. Other than that, it is a waste of money. You just have to know when the right time to go on rides is. Such as not going on Raptor at 11 AM. Wait till 7 or 8 pm.

^I purchases a Fastlane in June and thought it was very much worth the money. most of the lines were very reasonable, however Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, and Millennium Force were all about an hour wait. The wait time for each one was under 10 minutes. I managed to ride Millennium Force 24 times that day.

We were at Cedar Point on Monday, July 16 and bought the Fast Lane pass. It was nice. Most of the Fast Lane rides we were on in less than 5 minutes. However the MF was a 45 minute wait even with Fast Lane.

Wow that would not make me happy. Does Fast lane often have waits like that?

I know that I will be excited to use my Fast Lane pass in mid-September for Halloweekends... I'm sure it will not be a waste of money on those Saturdays!

We used FL on 7/17 and while it's true there was not much of a "regular" line on some of the rides the few that it was a perk was huge! Maverick had a 1¼ hour wait. From the time we left the wife (she doesn't ride), walked through the line, rode the ride and then walked back to her was 8 MINUTES!!!! Now granted that it is an extremely example but that is a huge advantage.

We rode Maverick later in the day at it was a 1½ hour wait and it took us 15 to get through. MF was a 30 minute wait using FL, I didn't see what the wait for the regular line was but rest assured it was much longer than that. The FL entrance for Raptor is right next to the exit so you can get off and get right back on if the mood should strike you.

Another "perk" to it is, you are not standing in the sun for over an hour. You can ride and then go find shade if you want.

My wife and I went to the park on Saturday. July 21st. We purchased fast pass for that day. It was more than worth the money. On almost every ride we went straight to the station and walked onto the rides. We have around a 30 minute wait on Millenium Force and about a 30 minute wait for Maverick. We didn't try TTD with the fast pass because we rode that on ERT. My original plan was to ride every ride as many times as possible. However, we ended up riding each ride in the park only once. The fast pass allowed us to take our time and enjoy the other parts of the park and the resort that we might have missed if we were running from line to line. It made what could have been a very hectic day into a nice relaxing vacation.

^This...used it once and had the most relaxed day at the park. Very nice to be able to slow down and enjoy yourself with the saved waiting time.

We are most likely going to the park tomorrow and I planning on buying fast lane. I havent bought it yet because I want to be sure we are actually going tomorrow before I lock in a day. Do fast lane passes ever sell out? Should I be worried about waiting to buy them late tonight vs buying them now?

During a visit in June I bought Fast Lane passes and it was well worth it. 5-8 minute wait at the most for Millennium and Maverick. Maybe 10 minutes for Top Thrill. You basically start at the platform. There are times or year where it would be useless but if you relocated and can only make it to the park once or twice year it's a bargain if the park is busy.

To my knowledge, FL has yet to sell out completely. There have been reports of one location or another temporarily running out of the wristbands, but there are multiple locations around the park where they can be purchased.

So, you should be fine. In fact, it may be preferable to wait and see the crowd level before deciding whether or not FL is of value to you.

I'm more concerned that if I pre-purchase a Fast Lane pass, and the weather is totally BAD that day, then the money was a total waste.

Any insight as to any advantage of pre-purchasing FL passes versus just waiting until the date of entry? (considering I'm not in the mood to wait in line for the rides, I'm also not in the mood to wait in a huge line for a fast lane pass...:)

I had Fastlane on Friday. Final tally was 6 Millennium, 5 Maverick, and 5 TTD, along with at least one on all other coasters except the junior rides, Corkscrew, and Mantis. Also hit Windseeker. Never again.

Good, Windseeker doesn't deserve your abuse. ;)

Just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not a huge fan of rides that both spin and go high.

I might be going to the park with my parents on either Sunday August 26th or Monday August 27th for one last fun thing to do before school starts again (I'll start on Wednesday of that week). I've gone to the park around a week or two prior to this date before and crowds were moderate. But I've never gone around the time we're planning and wondered if crowds would be lighter. I think they would, since I know some schools start on that Monday so most people wouldn't go on that day or even the day before, Sunday, in order to get ready for school. I just want to know this so I can let my parents know whether or not we should consider getting FL. Thanks!
