I went last Thursday and I bought Fast Lane for me and my niece. We always go on Maverick first and we just about walked on to second row seats to start the day. We thought wow this is going to be a great day and while the waits were never that short we did save more than 3 hours of normal wait time throughout the day. Millenium and Dragster were both down multiple times during the day which of course you cant plan for so we ended up riding many rides we dont always ride. We rode Magnum 3 times which was fun. One time we happened to be walking by Dragster when they reopened it and we were on it in less than 15 minutes. Another time we were 4 cars away from getting on and they closed the ride and made everybody leave the line which sucked but we had only waited around 20 minutes that time too. Our longest wait with Fast Lane was 30 minutes for Millenium and there were a lot of people complaining that the normal wait earlier in the day was 3 hours but I dont know if that was true.
While Fast Lane can be used for 20 different rides in all reality it doesnt matter for many of them. It mainly helped us for Maverick, Millenium, Dragster, Raptor and Snake River Falls. Sometimes it helped for Magnum and sometimes it really didnt matter. I was surprised they didnt have it for Wicked Twister but the line for that moves pretty fast.
The bottom line is if you are only going to be at the park for one day and you plan on riding all the big rides then Fast Lane is worth it if you can afford it. We were there for all 12 hours the park was open and it was nice not to feel rushed all day long worrying about which rides we would be able to get on. A lot of people at the park and on the Cedar Point Facebook page seem to be complaining that all the lines are longer now so it will be interesting to see if they adjust how it works or get rid of it next year
I think CP id having a good year this year, part of the perception of longer lines could be that the park is more crowded.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Assuming Fast Lane returns next year, is it a no-brainer that Gatekeeper has a Fast Lane? You'd think it would because it's sure to have long lines. But, being a first year ride, not sure if they'd want all guests to have equal wait time?
Considering that leviathan had it this year i would assume it will be on Gatekeeper plus that will really help the FL sales, even though they are selling really well right now.
We have no hard data that I'm aware of, but they've raised the price over the season, which seems to indicate demand has been high.

Who would buy a Fast Lane next year if it didn't include the new ride? They may make the policy for re-rides a little different for GateKeeper, but otherwise GK is a major incentive for folks to buy FL.

I hope they ditch Fast Lane. Maybe a Fast Pass System like Disney, or just go back to the easy one queue line system.

I was at the park last Thursday and purchased 4 fast lane passes for my family and I. We went on more costers in 8 hours then we have in the last 6 years combined. (We go every year for HalloWeekends.) We all loved it.... But I also wouldnt mind if they got rid of it.
For me spending the extra 200 was not a big deal but for alot of people that is way too much to spend.
I know my logic may be a little messed up being that we all had a great time but I also think about the families that save money for a long time to go and they dont get to go on many rides.
We stayed 2 nights at breakers and received 4 tickets to the park. Add in the Fast lane passes and the rental car the 2 day trip cost 800-900 not including food and merchandise purchases!
I will just say that when I was at CP for a week I made sure to stay away from the big 3 until late at night because their lines move really slow now with FL added. I have no problem waiting in line I just hate standing when you keep moving, but now it sucks waiting for the big 3. I was just so thankful for early entry and platinum ride time to get all my rides on the big 3
I hate Fast Lane. It ruins my day. All I want to do is ride. I get my ride count cut in half every time I come. If Cedar Fair was smart, they would get rid of it. They may loose customers like me because of Fast Lane.
I get tired waiting in line for TTD while Fast Lane rides it 4 times. GET RID OF THE SYSTEM. Be smart Cedar Fair.

^ and that right there is why we can never have a civil discussion about FL. I hate being on the same side as people like that who go over the top.

You don't know that to be true. You're making an assumption without adequate data.

Then perhaps you'd be well-served if you purchased FL. You know, seeing as how your enjoyment of life seems to hinge on how many rides you can get in a given time period.
They may loose customers like me because of Fast Lane.
That's justification enough for them to keep it, as far as I'm concerned. :)

Then purchase FL. Problem solved, my friend!
GET RID OF THE SYSTEM. Be smart Cedar Fair.
Since when is it smart for a business to turn down customers who want to give them extra money?

I was at Cedar Point last week. Cedar Point actually has a wait time board on Millennium Force at the Fastlane entrance. The regular wait was 1.5 hours, the Fastlane was 30 minutes. I believe that the park truly is trying to make Fastlane as least of a nuisance as possible. Kings Island on the other hand...
Personally, I hope that they do include GateKeeper next year on Fast Lane if they continue with it; however, even if GK isn't on the list, I still will most likely purchase one. My reason for that is that I only get to Cedar Point maybe once a summer, and when I'm there I want to make the most of my time. If they don't have Fast Lane next year, I won't be heartbroken since I've never had the chance to buy it before. (Won't be making a trip there this summer...) But if it's there, I will take advantage of it and ride as much as I can and enjoy my trip! :)
Kings Dominion already limits rides for Fast Lane guests on Volcano to 2 per day, so it wouldn't be unprecedented for them to implement a similar system with GateKeeper.
To get Fast Pass on X-Flight at Six Flags in Chicago, you have to get the Platinum pass. And even at that, I think the benefits are more limited than other rides. BREAKING NEWS: Six Flags introduces the 4th tier to the Fast Pass system: Diamond Fast Pass! You will be carried from ride to ride via a team of trained monkeys. ;)

Actually no i didn't assume anything it is all fact. With FL the standby queue has less people riding per hour due to less seats available, therefore causing the line to move slower. I don't see any assumptions made there. Less output means that it will move slower.
They finally got me to buy tickets to go for the first time since they introduced this cheap and lazy version of a fast pass system. They got me to do this by dropping ticket prices to half of what they were last year. While I wouldn't expect them to drop prices in half, once implementing a system that takes away ride time from those who only purchase regular admission compared to what they got for less money, just one year ago, they should have dropped prices on regular admission instead of increasing it.
The only data I will need to prove how horribly wrong this system might be, is how much longer I will be in line for Millennium Force from the pop machines, excluding downtime. It was always under just about an hour from that point for me.
