Fast Lane

So I take it random people will just group up at the counter give one person the money and get Fast Lane for $30 bucks a head.

I do not see how they can function with this system for over a season. I put my bets that they put in a electronic system by 2013 season, and adjust pricing to Six Flags flash pass levels (Read much more restricted and expensive)

hey, thats what we are trying to do right now in trip planning.

The Fast Lane, in its current form, is flawed. People WILL loop the big 3 over and over again. To prevent this, FL should work like Universal Express Plus. The Universal Express pass allows a person to use it ONE time per ride, and that's it. Universal tried doing it the way the same way FL does, but was quickly changed when people just rode Mummy, JP, and Hulk over and over again.

Now the only people that get an "unlimited" Express pass are resort guests, and they do not have to pay for it, it is included on their room key. Even with all this in place, the ratio of express people to regular people is (at least when i worked there) 75% regular line, 25% express line. Also the price fluctuated depending on day, and is between $46 and $70 depending on day. If Cedar Fair did FL like Universal, then there would be little to complain about, since there would virtually be no noticible change in wait time for regular guests.

That's what I want to do. Anyone game for this Friday? :)

I'm sure they will adjust it to compensate for that. I'm certain they are keeping statistics for how often FL is used for each ride. It is a similar situation at Kings Island. Most FL users ride Diamondback over and over.

So, there are 2 scenarios we're hearing little about.

1. How is Fast Lane affecting the lines on these much less crowded week days?

2. For those that have actually used Fast Lane at CP, what'd you think of your experience?

^ I would feel bad for anyone that wasted money on FL on a day like today...the park is not busy at all

Perhaps this has been answered and I missed it, or it is just blatantly obvious, but wouldn't it make more sense to restrict Fast Lane from 12 - 7, like they originally did in the test run at Kings Island? Why was there a switch?

To create the image of more value in Fast Lane. Unlimited rides all day sounds better than 12-7.

That's not true at all, or at most, they restrict rerides within some time window. I've done Mummy a half-dozen times in one day.

I do understand the wish for parks to have multi tiered "FastPasses" But I have a real problem with Six Flags charging a +$100 dollar up-charge for the Premium pass plus an additional $10 per each reservation made for the most popular attractions. That is a horrible system, since if you only want to ride one or two of the rides all day or even once a hour, you would need to pay Park admission+ $100 dollars for the premium Pass + $10 for each time you wish to ride the top attraction, You could easily spend over $300 dollars and only get 10 rides on the top attractions. That is crappy.

It will be interesting to see how Disney rolls out there up-charge version of FastPass.

Wet n Wild sold two different levels of fast passes when I was there last summer. The higher priced level allowed for unlimited rides on the 10 biggest slides. The lower priced level allowed for one ride on each of the 10 biggest rides. Ride op marked your wristband with a marker as you got in line for each of the slides.

We stayed at a Universal resort and had unlimited fast pass access so I don't know if there was a lesser pass for non-resort guests.

How long was the wait for mf, mav, and ttd? Many fast lane users today?

My statement is entirely true, Jeff, unless you are a resort guest, you only get to use it once at each attraction.

Look it up on Universal's website.

Wait times at least before noon, were minimal, and FL users didn't seem to have an impact on the wait times. But all the kids there for Math and Science week were annoying.

Yeah, I'm talking about resort guest access.

Rode all the "big" rides today, and if I did not know it existed, I would never know there was a "Fast-Lane" system. In other words, I saw very, very few people using it, and only on TTD did I actually "spot" a Fast Lane user.

Promoter of fog.

I'm sure I've seen this question posted before, but don't see an answer. Does anyone know where the FL entrance is on Millenium, TTD, Maverick and Raptor? I plan on going to the park next Wed, Thu & Fri. If the lines are short as typical for May, I'll just go with the regular crowd. However, since I'm traveling from Southern Indiana, if the lines are long, I'll invest in FL at least one day. Thanks!

Today there was no need for Fast Lane for sure. Rode everything by 1 o-clock, including some double/triple rides on the big 3.

It did however become noticeable that lines take a bit longer. I know there wasn't really any Fast Lane users, but all of them (Single Rider Bob too) were Marathon'ing the big 3. Usually you can determine how long you are by the bottom of the MF ramp, but this time it did seem an extra 10-15 minutes were added.

I don't know why the others have the line merge, which I for one like much better, where these just you to the station. I for one know come summer it WILL get worse, but today it was fine due no one there.

Does anyone else worry about any fighting or arguing on busy days from pissed off guests? We know CP does not have the most upscale guests. i am just waiting to hear about fights breaking out on certain days before changes are implemented. I do not see this working out very well on Saturdays in July for certain demographics who do not have the FP. i thinnk this whole thing will backfire. Yes they will get the money but they will also have a lot of angry people to deal with who dont understand what is going on when they get there.

They're totally hidden. You might not find them unless someone tells you where to look! There aren't any signs!
