Pretty sure it’s not just as simple as slapping any train on and calling it a day. The trains have to line up with the fins, brakes, sensors, drive tires, etc. Either the trains have to be modified to fit the existing set up by Zamperla or everything else has to be stripped and start over to fit the trains.
Reputation to whom? Until enthusiasts start buying their rides, I don't think it matters.

I'm just a realist about the size and scope of the industry. Besides, who else is going to retrofit a Dragster-sized ride like this? The PNE ride is working just fine.

Top Thrill 1 was massively problematic in its first season. Top Thrill Dragster was so bad, then CEO Dick Kinzel called it his worst business decision. Top Thrill Dragster took years to get running even remotely reliably, yet Cedar Point sill built more rides from Intamin - Maverick and Shoot the Rapids, despite Intamin's reputation for being a difficult company to work with.
The most important thing right now is how good is the customer service that Zamperla is providing. If Zamperla is providing good support to Cedar Point to get the ride up and running as soon as they can, the fact that it was closed for a few months isn't going to be a significant factor.

Ignoring the history lesson part of your post.... You can't be serious ?

I wonder if Zamperla is paying dividends or something for positive posts right now.
But seriously, if I’m ordering a crazy bus, or a train, Zamperla is #1 on my list. If I’m retrofitting a 400+ foot coaster, I’m calling Intamin.
This is exactly what I would have expected as an outcome. They simply don’t have the experience.
I blame the environmentalists. When you go into these parks with new launch coasters, the launches go so slowly. Plod, plod, plod. Slowly, slowly. You used to have beautiful, nice, wonderful launches. Maybe some of the greatest ever in this country, some say. When I take a launch, i want to feel it strongly. Now it takes you three launches just to get over the hill, and they can't even get that to work. Its a disgrace what they are doing to these rides. Make Launches Great Again!
Sit tight fellas ;) Whoop, Whoop Juggalos!
Cedar Pointer:
No one will want to work with them for any high thrill coaster. Being obtuse isn't funny or cute.
I can say with 100% certainty that customers are working with them right now.
Also, I'm ****ing delightful and cute.
