Erection of Skyhawk

It's only 7:41 and the site is being to clog up. Arg... I already missed a few minutes.

That's not the crane that was there last night. They will need the taller one.

That crane has a telescoping boom, so it might be long enough to lift the top piece onto the supports. We'll see, I suppose.

Now, make with that erection already!

The crane is more than big enough. It has maybe 140 of boom and has maybe 50 ton capicity (educated guess). I would be supprised if they made the pick today. Looks like they are getting all set up for tommorrow. It takes a while to get all the rigging in place and double check the anchor bolts - unload all their machinery and tools.

So are you starting to think they wont do it today? Because I am getting that feeling too. It's almost 10. And it was 'sheduled' for 8.

If I remember right, T&T said the legs were going up today and the top-piece tomorrow. Looking at the way other screamin swings are put together, it looks like their legs are free-standing, as opposed to maXair's which are not freestanding and actually "lean" against the other 3 in order to stay up.

Set the image (http://www.cedarpoint.com/_cpcam/cam3_0000000001.jpg) as an active item on your desktop. You can then refresh it by doing a "right-click" and refresh or just hitting F5 while on your desktop.

Problem is.. it won't load at all. So clogged. I am forced to watch the fun coast cam. Can you upload some images?

And I finnialy got in. Nothing exciting except the part of the top piece is vieable.

Just got back - looks like they just unloaded the top main axle. This process will take a while, like I mentioned earlier, lot of set up work - they will break for lunch soon and I assume they will knock off around 4:30. I would guess they need to bolt up the tower pieces together on the ground and make all the tower picks at one time. I would be suprised if they make any big picks today or even tommorrow (I might be wrong - just a guess) - been there done that.
