Now we all know that the wait for this thing is going to be long on opening day and probably every other day too. Some people are saying the wait will be two, three, or maybe even four hours. Now, I don't know about you but I just can't stand there for two hours without becoming somewhat bored so I was wondering what you might do for entertainment while standing in line. I plan on bringing along my CD player and possibly a Game Boy or something like that. What will you bring/do?
(If this thread turns into another fight about wait times, please close it because it'll just make me sick!)
I'm going to bring my excitement and nervousness along with possibly a cd player and gameboy also.

I really hate carrying stuff around the park, so I guess I'll just be standing there enjoying the view. Being that its a new coaster, I kind of look foward to seeing people's faces as they come off the ride!

The nervous rush of looking at the thing each time a train goes down the hill and looking at my friends faces after words thinking "Oh dear, where really going to do this?" Thats enough entertainment.

i always bring a paperback novel around the 300-400 page range. they fit well into a fanny pack and the time goes REALLY fast if you're involved in a good story. also, you don't have to worry about a book getting broken on a ride, like a GameBoy or CD player...(although, my boyfriend usually brings said GameBoy...)

I hope tube tops will be back in style this year. That would keep me entertained for days!

I 2nd that ToofastGM3! People watching can make for great entertainment. I would not be surprised to see a video screen in line, like with the Mantis. Personally, I find the video screens annoying because they are so loud you can not hold a conversation, which is my favorite method for passing time.
One has to wonder. The surrounding roar won't be nearly as loud as Mantis, since Intamin trains and track are relatively quiet. I don't know how much of the queue will sit in the last turn, but watching that thing fly around that last sixty-foot high turn almost inverted should be tons-o-fun!

Great dround picture op.! Anyways, I don't like that big screen on Mantis. We all know its a projection screen and up close their junk. Plus in the day time the galre is horrible. SO a DJ would work fine for me

You mean a DJ with current music? Everytime I'm there, the DJ says they have top 40 music, but they don't. The only thing they have is early 90's crap, and before. There were tons of people requesting songs, and they just kept holding up that stupid sign "We don't have that". I swear. Maybe they could get some professional DJ's in there this year? No offense to the Dj's because they probably have no choice in the music library.
How can you say that Clarkbar? Calling a dj unprofessional and then saying no offense is kind of a contradictory statement don't you think? I LOVE Creed and 311, but would never expect to hear that played at CP, however, I don't hold it against them. I think the music they do play, while not current, CAN be enjoyable.(Just as long as they don't play YMCA, gosh I hate that song!)

My entertainment usually consists of:
First 10-15 minutes: Watch the ride, regret that I didn't go to the bathroom before I got in line.
By 15-45 mins: Make friends with the people in front and in back of me. (If they aren't already my friends)
By 45-1:15 mins: Talk to my new/current friends, cross my legs and try not to think of water.
By 1:15-1:45: Begin my quest to find rails, walls, monitors, or other people to slouch against. I even stoop so low as to read nearby signs about the ride...
By 1:45-Boarding: Get pumped up for the ride.
Top 40 does not neccesarily mean CURRENT Top 40...any song that's been in the Top 40 since it's inception WWWAAAYYY BBAAACCCKKK WHEEENNN is considered to be such. and, unfortunatly(FORTUNATELY for me) Credd, 311, etc..are NOT Top 40...hee heee heee...

I think they need to show South Park clips on video screens.
Not from the whimpy TV show, either. Bring out the original "Spirit of Christmas" and the movie...
I'm not sure what would be more entertaining, the clips or people-watching for reactions :)
(In all fairness, that wouldn't be right. People who are offended have the right to not listen/watch, but in line for a ride you're a captive audience. I could argue to abolish the "Top 40" DJ for the same reason, though :) )
--Greg (who once saw "Spirit of Christmas" played in its entirety on the jumbo screens at RFK Stadium during an HFStival concert -- bet the parents in attendance *LOVED* that...)
GregLeg... South park is going to go over reall well at a family oriented park I am sure. Not that I am not all for it but I would think not!
Where is Marcus D. when we need a DJ comment?

I like the DJ concept, except for one thing: I usually don't get to the point on weekends and during the week the DJs don't show up until late or later into the evening. What about the daytime riders?
Ok, I didn't mean to call the ones that were there unprofessional. What I meant was that maybe the DJ's (if they were Dj's before working at CP)that they hire could be allowed to use their own personal music library, etc. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I am really bad at getting my points across.
One song comes to mind when I think of millenniun Force, even though there's no chance in heck that CP would ever play it.
SLAYER - Angel of Death.
Just think about it. A 310foot tall rollercoaster with a 300foot, 80degree, 92mph first drop??? MAN! I just think it would be perfect.
