Employee Transportation Question

I still find it irritating that the women who made the decision to not let employees park back there retired later that year. For those of you who didn't know, employees use to be allowed to park back there.

I've noticed that in the Employee Guidelines Handbook, it labels the Soak City parking lot as an employee parking section.

Last years? Hmm....maybe someone should bring that up whenever they get a ticket or are told they can't park there by Traffic Control. Although when you get your parking sticker, you are suppose to get a paper explaining where to park and that area is not listed.

That is pretty interesting. I guess I never looked at the handbook that closely. Either way, there's really no reason to not allow employee parking back there outside of a few of the busier Saturdays.

What was interesting was that it only seemed to be Ripcord and Race Park employees that got in any trouble. They never seemed to bother any of the TGI Fridays employees that parked back there.

Oh don't worry, stickers were removed and tags were pulled. Both from Fridays and Hotel Breakers. Not to mention Lifeguards as well.

I parked in Soak City for two straight years almost daily and rarely ever got in any kind of trouble for it. I only had to move my car once. Even when management promised to "make an example" out of people who parked back there, I survived. I don't see why it matters if employees park back there, unless it's a really busy day for Soak City.

^^ Wouldn't removing someone's parking sticker just make it easier for them to park back there? I often wished I didn't have a sticker since they'll let you past the toll booths with your ID anyway.

^ Exactly, unless the lot has a possibility of filling up, which is probably about 5% of the operating days all season, there's no good reason to not allow employee parking back there. I'd even be ok with being limited to the back of the lot or the Gemini lot.

By removing the sticker I meant they had their parking privileges revoked.

I had a friend who got a season parking pass so she could park in the back.

^That's just dumb. Why the hell would you pay money to the park just to park a little closer? Are people really that lazy? Not saying I never parked in the back, but 98% of the time I parked up front. The only times I parked in the back is when I would be bringing stuff into work that I could not carry to the back.

i didnt take my vehicle with my parking pass outside of the commons parking lot when i went to the park i would park anywhere. but any ways its kind of funny though when your battery dies and the traffic guy who comes to help you out knows you work there but hey i parked where his crew told me to park oh well.

if you work at soke city can you park there, or am i SOL just like everyone else?

Technically nobody is allowed to park back there, you're supposed to park in the Space Spiral lot and walk all the way back. However, most people just park in the Soak City lot and usually manage to get away with it. The downside is that there will occasionally (usually on busier days) be a parking person back there preventing you from even getting into the lot, and there's always a chance management may suddenly decide to start punishing people who are parked there. There was about a two week stretch last summer where management decided to get tough on employees parking back there, then they just went back to not caring after that.

heres the deal with parking in the back, you're not allowed to but hardly anyone ever notices if you do. Park there until you get in trouble. They'll tell you to move your car and you'll most likely get an extra 20 minute break while you drive to the front of the park and walk all the way to soak city. After that, its up to you to decide whether or not its worth getting in trouble for parking. As long as you don't do it on super busy days, you won't have a problem.
