Well, all I can say is that if you really want an awesome job, then you need to work Restrooms! At least you needed to work Restrooms when I worked in that division (Summer of 95)! Foods is also awesome. Worked as a zone sup of zone 6 summer of 97 and had a blast! Really, the best jobs to have on the point in my opinion are what I call the "underdog" positions such as Restrooms, Foods, Group U, etc. Now not that I think these jobs are demeaning, heck, I pulled garbo and I loved it! But when you are hired for these positions, others in the park immediately think of you as the underdog and not "worthy," therefore, you and your fellow employees really pull together to prove everyone wrong! Hell, the best part of one of my summers at CP was when the Raptor guys pulled garbo for extra hours. I don't think they knew what they were getting themselves into, I loved it! They wanted to wear gloves! HA HA HA Restrooms was the best position I had at the park. People look at me like I am nuts when I say that, but hey, don't knock it till you try it. I also enjoyed my time in Foods, but as a supervisor, it is sometimes hard to have as much fun as the red tag employees because you have A LOT of responsibility and you run your behind off! But I loved every minute of it! I also had my fair share of fun, hey Jenn, does the potato chip incident ring a bell, or how about Nuts for Joe? LOL I myself, would never want to work in rides, I had much more guest interaction when I worked in Restrooms. I mean the chances of everyone coming in my restrooms were much greater than the chances of everyone in the park riding the Raptor or the Mantis! When you gotta go you gotta go! But seriously, I get so tired of certain positions in the park looking at jobs like Foods and Restrooms and Group U; the jobs that give the park their cleanliness awards, as jobs that are demeaning in some way or another. Do you know how many times I was cleaning a restroom and had a rides employee come in and mutter something about "Potty Patrol?" Yes, I worked on the Potty Patrol and I was darn proud to work there. Do you know how many times I found a sweeperette smoking in one of my RR stalls? Zillions of times! I just don't get it! The point I am trying to make is that every position in the park is important in its own way. Without one, we could not have the other, and that is just the way it goes. Healthy competition is good, but when you start degrading something you know nothing about, that just bites my biscuit. Ok, I have said my peace! SOme of you are saying! THANK GOD! Later
