Employee Housing Renovations

While we're on the subject, I think it is a good thing that internet is not easily accessible in housing. Working there is a lot more enjoyable if you spend more time hanging out with people and less time sitting on your laptop.

I make fun of Dick for being technologically deficient, but the same goes for you as well, I mean really, who doesn't have a phone that can be used as a WiFi hot spot nowadays?

Here's the thing... It shouldn't be anyone's decision except the one who would be using it on whether or not it's "good" to have wifi. It is NOT Cedar Point's responsibility to make sure we're spending more time with people. Crew outings will always be a regular thing and commons will still be where people socialize. Are you forgetting that people come from all around the world to work at CP? The least CP can do is give employees internet to talk to their families. Just because you give people internet doesn't mean they'll ALWAYS be on it...

I don't know if you read what I wrote but I did start the sentence off with "I think..." with an emphasis on the "I". Meaning it is my personal belief that the more time one spends with friends, the more enjoyable their season will be.

Nope, I am well aware of international employees. Are you aware that CP already does MORE than just give them internet to talk to their families, they also provide them with computers to do so!

Just because someone disagrees with you and brings up valid points does not mean they're trolling you, "kid."

I'm not JUST talking about international employees either. Not every employee that works at CP and isn't an international is from Ohio or Michigan. Some travel for days across the country just to work at Cedar Point and don't get to see their families until around the holidays.

All I know is its dumb to put 4 to a room and only have 3 lockers. (Dorms)

or to put three in a room with two dressers and two lockers and make them figure out how to split it.

What would you guys suggest that the best housing is? Are there any with A/C? I do have a car so I would have no problem getting from dorms to CP and wouldn't need the busses or whatever.

Commons Dorms
1300s girls
1400s boys
1500s mixed

I'm a guy. So I'd need either 1400 or 1500. What's are those numbers? Room numbers?

Those are the building numbers, they are the off point dorms. Like the previous poster said the 1400s are all male and 1500s the first floor of one of the wings is males only.. I would suggest 1500s if you can get in because they are nicer and closer to the bus, Also, commons dorms do have AC in the rooms.

Some of the rooms have 4 people in the rooms in the 1500s. The 1300s and the 1400s have 3 to a room. The way the 1500s works depend son what side you are on. One side has 3 to a room and the other has 4.

Protip: if you can manage, HAVE A CAR! Or make friends with someone who has a car... that thing is a nightmare. You're more likely to get trampled and crushed trying to get on the bus on the 4th of July than at a soccer match!

The other side of that is the fact that employee parking is as far if not further than guest parking, whereas the bus drops you off at Cedars. Depending where you work, that can be a bit of a walk! The buses are not terrible, considering they're free. No gas $, no insurance $, and some of the best people-watching you can imagine. A couple of the drivers are pretty cool, and they run right on time most of the time...

I was late to work because of those damn buses more times than I could count.

the three person rooms have two lockers and two dressers.
the four person rooms have three lockers and I don't know how many dressers.
It is just what they give you and we have to make it work.
