Sparty, let me point out something to you...

You know those big ugly square signs with all the legalese on them at the entrance to every ride in the park? Yeah, those.

Well, on Media Day last season, the posts were up, but the signs were blank.

As much stuff as that park has to do this winter, even if they are implementing electronic time signs (which I kind of doubt), I think it's unlikely that they would have done much with it at this point. That's one of those things that wouldn't even be useful until a month into the season...for now they have enough to do to finish the stuff that needs to be done by next Saturday! :)

I'm not sure about a deadline, but for those of you who don't know about the electric gates, they are simply the gates that keep guests from entering the train or falling onto the track in the station, MF has them, Iron Dragon has them, Magnum, Wicked Twister, and Mantis and/or Raptor should have them this year I think, not sure.

Yea, I think the gates became manditory at parks now. Personally i dont know how stupid you have to be to walk onto the tracks. But, Aslong as its going to be safer.

They're usually referred to as Air Gates.

Electronic gates can get confunsed with the magnetic gates popular on Intamins (Xcelerator, perilous plunge, and oddly vertigo at knotts).

Mantis had them way before now... although there not the best. Even if used the electronic wait times, it wouldnt be up this year. They would have to plan it out like they would a rollercoaster because of all the wireing and such they would have to do. They couldn't just wake up one day in the off season and say their doing it... we would of heard by now. If their going to do it it will be some time in the '04-'07 area not this year.
