electronic que line times

Dude - if anything, the numbers are inflated, not deflated! :) There's usually competition for high numbers among coaster crews. Magnum and Raptor has been the big battle in recent years, but there have been others. Capacity is second to safety, but make no mistake about it - CP wants high numbers.

Jeff where did you get your information that Jungle Larry quit? Talk to any sweeps from Zone 3 during the late 80s or early 90s and they will tell you the same thing. Do you know Jungle Jane?..... I do. As far as manipulating the ride attendance totals.... every year after the park closes the produce all of the attendance stats into a book that is used for the Public Relations Dept. I have a copy of this book for the last 12 years. I also have copies of ride training manuals for different rides.... in the front of these manuals are a year by year listing of that particular ride's attendance.

It's simple ... if the Public Relations book totals don't match the ride manual's totals for the same year and these particular discrepences are for rides that have been taken out .... ka boom.

Cedar Point is not God's like some people think.

all i have to say to that is WOW!! nice captain ed

thanks jonisneo.... the PR Dept at Cedar Point is like a fire breathing dragon. But they really don't like it when they get bad press. After the Sandusky Register did the article about the Schwabinchen I called the paper and informed them that CP PR Dept. had lied to them about the reason they were taking the ride out.

CP told the paper they were taking the ride out simply because the ride totals have been on the slide for the past few years. Then I pulled out my handy manuals and the Park Operations summaries and comparisons book ...faxed it over to the news paper and they were pretty upset the PR Dept was giving them incorrect information. For example the ride's attendance the PR people gave the newspaper for 2002 were 281,516 when actual totals were 352,442.

If you or anyone is interested in what a particular ride or attraction's attendance is for any year just ask.

im just wondering how you got the numbers and where if you dont mind me asking i would like to see a couple

I prefer caution in believing anyone's statements of having inside information who only signed up to this site yesterday.

And, giving you the benefit of the doubt, if you did have such information in your possession, I don't think flaunting it on a site such as this is the best idea in the world.

I knew I saw it somewhere... read Walt's interview with "Safari Jane" regarding their departure from Cedar Point. There's your answer. No conspiracy.

The PR department doesn't like bad press? Gee, I can't understand why any business wouldn't like a little bad press now and then. Give me a break.

And I think you've got an axe to grind with the park (seeing as how you're a "former" employee), so your credibility is pretty much non-existant as far as I'm concerned.

Gravity....Why would it be a bad idea its just the ride stats what could be so wrong about knowing how many people rode certin rides?

Generally, with any company, manuals and training materials are considered copyrighted and/or confidential materials. I do not know for sure if Cedar Point sees this in the same way, but I'd assume they would.

Offering up such materials is... well, just not the smartest thing to do. Even if you hold a grudge against the park for whatever reason.

Thanks for sticking up for me jonisneo. The numbers are from a book that is for PR use. It is called "Park Operations Summeries and Comparisions". No the PR book is not classified... but the ride training manuals are... that is because they contain the correct information.

People should have knowledge of this information. Because their ar people who don't think you should know information like this is exactly why you should have access.

If there is nothing to hide... then what is the problem?

I dont see why Cedar Point would care if "everyone" knew about how many peopel rode what most of the people do not care untill they annouce the rides is getting removed and then not to many people care about how many people rode the ride... no problem can you email me some of the rides population ? or get them to me someother way if not to much trouble if you have aim instant msg me thanks if theres a problem that you cant its ok to thanks anyways

i also think that people have to right to know certain things ...ex.. if a ride goes down they should tell what is wrong with it, i know there was some talk about why wicked twister went down all the time but no one really knows the truth exept for them "high class people" and any one know if its true about wicked twister tower that the bolts where striped and just welded back on?

Hi Gravity,

Until now I really have not had the time to go on line. Plus I'm not real good with computers, otherwise I would have been on line a long time ago.

I really don't have an axe to grind... I just get tired of everything being about coasters all the time. I would love for once if the park did something different. What's happening is the park keeps narrowing it's market.

There are a lot of other rides and attractions out there.... they should consider some. But sadly no were in the park's five year plans are their anything but coasters and moving the parking lot.

Jeff... your kidding me right.... Walt is a sell out to the Public Relations Department. I know Walt. Just because you type it and put it on your UN-OFFICAL web site does not mean it should be written in the history books.
about the parking lot captain ed will they leave some of it up front or move all of it to the main land?
