Im new at this but today i was searching the photos and one of the signs says "Ya'll ready for some sidewindin" , so mabey that might mean like the whole new direction thing and the seats in the train mabey be sideways?
It may be important to notice that the supports in this are all have a square flange with four bolt holes. All of the sopports that I can find in the staging area with a square flange and four bolt holes are the ones with multiple round connections. I do not beleive that this supports the dueling argument, but there does seem to be an awful lot of track in this one area.
I am interested in others thoughts?
There is nothing to support a dueling argument. NOTHING.
You have about as much chance of hearing "dueling coaster" as you do of hearing 500 ft or water being involved.
Thats a interesting point Zbusta.
A new aerial piC From on top of mean streak posted on another site makes the dueling theory alot more intriguing...

No, anything is possible for Cedar Point's "2056 Project". The possibilities have been narrowed considerably as construction has progressed.
There will be no dueling coaster for 2007.

The whole new direction idea, CP has yet to build a dueling roller coaster, my votes with that, the Y track along with other things makes me lean towards that.
No, it's not going to happen.
They haven't built anything that's down low. That's the whole new direction. It is NOT a dueling coaster.
What's a dueling coaster?
I thougth that Gemini was dueling but now that I think about it, it's a racer coaster.
Only one I can think of is Dueling Dragons...
"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006
I'm absolutely baffled by this. What is leading some of you to think that a dueling coaster is even remotely possible?
Brandon
Maybe it's those same people that have gotten to ride Rapter. Maybe they have some special insider information.
I wish I could ride the Rapter.
Please, what is a dueling coaster? I looked it up and the definition I got was a coaster with two trains that ride along side each other and race. So why isn't Gemini a dueling coaster?
Nic
A racing coaster is side-by-side with nearly identical tracks (ie they follow the same course). A dueling coaster is 2 coasters with distinctly separate courses. For example see Dueling Dragons.

Gwazi is a dueling wooden coaster. And if you ride it, make sure you have some Tylenol and perhaps some Ben Gay 'cause that thing will beat you up. It made Mean Streak feel like a B&M.

Wow! That means it must be one of the roughest coasters in the world! Is is worse than the Villian..
