DT Thought

OK, so this may be a cheesy idea, but on boardwalks (I know, it isn't a boardwalk project) on the west coast, they have warehouses that are painted with images of whales, etc. and other beach scenes. Maybe they could paint the outside of the building to be a little more attractive instead of a warehouse.

Just a thought.

Okay, since I spent my summer at Disaster, I might be able to give some of you some answers... but probably not. I think they might be trying to figure out something to do with that ride to improve the animation, but what we kept hearing was that the ride moves too quickly to do a whole lot with it.  As for the maintenance stuff, the holes only pose a problem during heavy rainfall, when the track gets wet, which doesn't happen as much as it used to. The lights that are on during the ride have to stay on in case of a shutdown, so we (the crew) know where to find you when you stop moving.  All I would ask for is for the storyline to be used again. The whole ride might make more sense if people knew what was supposed to be happening. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.
A disco mirror ball goes a long way... The gadgets dont have to be   $ $ $  to  a good effect.

besides the coaster goes past them too fast to really see any of them well

Anyone have any pictures of the inside of DT before all the props didn't work?

email me if you have any.

Thanks in advance

I am the drummer and yes the Medina Drumline DOES prefer the rhythm method.

2001 MF Count : 46
2001 Maggie Count : 84
2001 DT Count : 119
Total 2001 Food expenses : $5.00

don't know if anyone really noticed this but on the Point website, it says
"How much will Wicked Twister coast to build Wicked Twister will cost $9 million to build and will be part of a $13 million total improvement package for the 2002 season
this is in the FAQ section, well, where's the other 4 mil. Ooppp I think I know where, in new theming for DT!!!
(I know it has been decided already, but I found some more evidence)

Only part of the 4 million is for Snoopy on Ice. The rest is for Park improvements.

:)

It would be nice to see some good theming back in DT. When the good theming was still around, I was too young to ride being born in 1988.
Those of you intersested the robots name was Dave.  He used to be in the second room and still was as of 2000 season when I worked on DT.  Even if they did restore all the sound effect like at the base of the lift.  You would hardly be able to hear them because the anti-rollbacks on the ride are very loud.  The lights have to be on I agree with that.  There are video cameras all through out the ride so we can see what is going on.  I myself used to love the animation.  I would also love to see it restored.  But we will have to wait and see what Upper managment decides.
I remember hearing the voice going all the way up the lift hill.  It was loud and clear when the ride first opened because the speakers were at ear level and turned up loud, unlike the spieling speakers on gemini, raptor, and magnum.

The voice at the base of the lift no longer works.  Every once in a while when I was working there  it would come on and scare us.  The one at the top of the lift yes i can be heard it also depends on if people are screaming going up the lift.  Everything in the building echoes.  It is actually pretty cool walking the track if I can get them scanned I do have a few pics of the inside.  They are not the best but hey they are something.

I think the anti-rollbacks add to the hill.
Tigger that would be awsome! email me.

THANKS!!

The only effects on dt that I noticed are: fog on the lift hill, some guy mumbling when you are going up the lift hill-the anti rollbacks make it almost impossible to hear him, the lights that run up the lift hill, and the guy shouting "I'm losing control!, I'm losing control!" I do love that guy though

"Life is like a roller coaster;enjoy it."

Ya thats is all they have right now! But back a FEW years they had much much more. (more of it was in the line then on the ride from what I can remember)But a lot of the stuff in the line is gone! They had robots, pictures, boxes, ex. Just a lot of different thing the went with the whole shiping thing.

If you get rid of the square wheels on Mean Streak, There will be no mean left in the Mean Streak. Are we going to call it Streak now? KEEP IT AS IT IS!

I remember back weh DT first opened up, they had a picture of the earth or something blowing up I think. I could be wrong, but it was something. It was on the big screen you see when you come out of the first dark tunnel, which used to have strobe lighting in it.

I beleive some strobes appeared and disappeared at some various times through the 2001 season. It's encouraging...
