DT Thought

You guys think since they are doing all this construction over in oceana and that will in turn attract more people over there to the 3 or 4 rides, (DT, Space Spiral), that they might try to "Clean Up" DT? Cause i mean i am so a DT fan, and i emailed CP right before clsing and they said that they have had a lot of emails and comments about DT.

 

DO I HEAR A DT REVIVAL?? MAYBE SOME EFFECTS WORKING????

Well, i know a ride op on DT told me and so did a former DT ride op that the fogger behind the giant screen ruined the screen itself, which is understandable, but what i don't understand is why they can't fix some of the holes in the bilding or turn off the work lights or anything like that.I'm not sure what you mean by laser disk though, like just for the video or what, cause i know that ALL the effects COULDN'T fit onto a laser disk, thats just simply too much programming language to do that, but maybe back in 89' thats what they had to do i dono i was only 4.

I hope they find the laser disc.  I've used some before and those things are huge (Vinyl-Record sized CD for those who don't know).  I can see a good majority of the effects being on the disc. However, they had to have done some major shuffling to lose an extra large shiny CD...  Something I've also managed to do myself. :)

I personally like the effects in the que for DT! exept they just go by too fast on the ride for me to see them very well.

Something I want to see back is the robot from the second room of the Queue lines.  :) Even if the second room can't be used, maybe the robot can be placed in the first room, or the third....

One thing I have wondered is if DT's popularity goes up, what happens to Pharo's Secret for Halloweekends?  It wouldn't really bother me, I thought all the haunted houses were pretty crappy, but it was just a thought I had

They replaced a lot of light bulbs last season...i hope they fix the sparks that used to come out of repair bay, and get the robots working. Also I noticed the crates that go around in the "red room" have been going slower and slower...during the DT80 we timed it and it took more than 45 minutes for them to go around once...at the end of the season they were even slower than that.

I don't understand all of the nostalgia for a ride that, quite frankly, never was that good to begin with, regardless of effects.

Hi guys this is my first post so bear... hee hee.. bear.... with me okay.  I guess Disaster Transport is supposed to be Cedar Point's answer to Space Mountain.  (I could be mistaken.)  Perhaps people just want to see Cedar Point do the best it can and bring back what it once had.  Just because something's old doesn't mean it has to fall into disrepair, i.e. Blue Streak.  Keep the coaster count and make the coasters worth riding.  We don't wanna see a park that has "that one coaster they just keep around for numbers," i.e. Magic Mountain's Flashback.  That's just my opinion though.  TTFN.

Well, it is what it is, theme effects or not. It serves a market segment as a reasonably gentle ride, but to suggest it ever was, or is, a spectacular ride is going a little overboard. Sure, I'll ride it, but it isn't even old enough to be nostalgic about it as some landmark at the park. I think most would agree it's an eyesore, especially in that part of the park on the beach.

All I ask is for them to return the little robot that originally followed you through almost the entire ride. Also for them to increase the recording they still have going of him. I forget his name, but I love the "I'm losing control! I'm losing control!" part. If they did restore all the the theming, then it would definitely gain ridership.

DT does have a nostalgic place for me, because it was one of the first coasters I could ride...it also was pimped out back then.
