DT Thought

Yeah, I like it when you first started into the ride, the object hanging which is the robot I presume would introduce himself, with the ominous "Overheating" light flashing. Then it would tell a story throughout the ride. :)

Now if you want to get nostalgic about that ride, why isn't anyone mentioning Avalanche Run??  Now that's nostalgia!!

Ok, I'll admit, I miss Avalanche Run.  It was my first coaster. But, whenever I ride DT I always remind myself, that it's still Avalanche Run just covered up so I can enjoy it while it rains. (also referring back to the days when CP closed every coaster even if a drop of rain hit the track)
Well, I can't really because when it opened I wasn't even a year old...which is why DT was one of first coasters. I was a bit short in my youth. There's nothing worse than turning away a 7 year old from riding MS and Magnum. :(

I think it would be good to open DT back up and build up a lot of mountain theming so that all you see are the mountain peaks and the sky (not any of the park or lake) as you race around them, not knowing where each turn will lead. The theming itself would make the rather tame ride interesting if nothing else. The bobsled concept would have been good had it been more convincing, I think. And I'm sure that a mountain top would look better than a 12E warehouse.
shorty Who has the disk??

lol, not your gonna tell me or anything.

Excuse me, where is the 10:00 Laser Show Presented by FirstEnegry??

I was going to say something like that, and I'm not really a die-hard DT fan. I just remember how it used to be, and realize it still has that potential.

Maybe change the theme just to see how it takes off. Turn it into a haunted house type theme or something.  (Would work great for Halloweekends!)  :)

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY HERE AT CEDAR POINT...AMERICA'S ROCKIN ROLLER COAST. *CLEAR*
Just thought i'd throw this in here, i emailed them about 2 weeks ago and asked them a couple real questions (when opening day was, when the season pass center was open) and then i asked the biggie , Whats up with DT?? Their answer, we have no answer concerning your Disaster Transport questions and comments.

THAT MAKE ME MAD!@!

Ugh....it's like they are hiding stuff from us about DT!!  :(

I wish they would remove the building or just enclose the track only, although I do love the ever decreasing themeing =)
They should just screw the old effects and just get new ones. With the newer technology that we have today a lot more "cooler" effects could take place.
They sould, but it all depends if they want to invest the money, I wouldnt think the return would be all that great.
I think its a much better ride now versus when it was uncovered.  It does need a little TLC though......
Well the thing is, new effects wouldn't be that much, (maybe 6 or 8 mil.) thas pocket change to them. I think it would really help on the aspect that cp doesn't have a FOF like paramount does or they don't have a space mountian, therefore drawing at least a little more business, and with WT going in right near DT, DT is going to see a lot more action then usual.

I am all for restoring DT to its original glory, which in my eyes it once had.  I understand that others feel differently about DT, referring to it as an eye sore, however I feel that DT does have potential, will be getting more attention, and would go along nicely with Cedar Point's family theme they seem to have grown so attached to.  I don't think Cedar Point will restore the ride, and every year I expect to see a big, blank spot where the big building once stood.  While I do not want to see this day anytime soon, I think it is inevitable, but we'll just have to wait and see.
I have the DISK.  I will sell it for $100!!!  Start the bidding!!
