At my old company, if you got hurt and it was found that there are drugs in your system, you were let go and you would not recieve any compensation for the injury.
You did not have to be higha t the time, just have drugs in your system. *** Edited 4/26/2006 3:39:40 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***
If you've shaved your head, they can just take it from somewhere else. What should be done is that if you do show up like that, you don't get a retest, you are done and don't get the job.

Well, if you go for the full body shave (including head) and then don't use while it grows back, you'll come up clean on the next test. You also don't really have a reason to shave it all unless you are trying to avoid a hair test, and you have no reason to avoid one if you are clean. So, yoink the job out from under them.

I'd have to agree with dj. I smoked all through my senior year in high school and passed 4 drug tests that year simply by drinking around 1.5 - 2 liters of water about 45 minutes before hand.
Just so I'm not ridiculed for that, I'm not condoning this in anyway nor suggesting employees at CP do it. In fact, I wouldn't go there if I thought CP employees did the same thing I did in high school because I could freakin Die because they didn't secure something properly.
Simply just stating what I've done.

There are a lot of industries where after an accident a drug test is mandatory. Truck Drivers come to mind.
Think about it: You wouldn't want to put a Guest in harm's way RIGHT????
Okay, that all depends on bow big a jerk the guest is being. Even so...

There is a technical school mostly for high school students near where I used to live that had an accident. One of its students was in the automotive department. This student brought his car in the shop to raise it for repairs. He parked his car on the lift and set up the arms to lift his car. When he raised it, he got the lift about waist level when the car lost it's balance and flipped over. There wasn't a drug test required. A bag of pot fell out of his car as found by one of the instructors. Not only did that kid get expelled from both his high school and the technical school, his car was totaled too.
Considering how lifts work and how high waste level is, I find it very hard to believe the car A. Losts its balance B. Flipped over.
Falling off the lift is a very strong possibility.. I've seen it happen several times. But they never flip over.
If I was this kid I would be suing the school and or their insurance for my car costs... The bag of pot in his car is not proper evidence that it had anything to do with his car flipping over.
In michigan, if you get caught with a bag of smoke on school property, you will get a strong 1 week suspension and probably a criminal ticket. Expulsion seems a bit steep.
One of the instructors showed me a picture of the car, it most certainly flipped over.
How can someone build a case when they were intoxicated at that time? It will fall through for sure.
Lastly, they expelled him for possession of an illegal substance, reckless operation of heavy machinery while intoxicated, serious endangerment of a fellow student's safety, and violation of several of the facilities rules. It was more than likely that it wasn't this guys first offense either.
I don't see how one can get expelled from school because of marijuana. Unlike my uninformed percentage earlier, I know that in my school getting caught high at school or in possession (without the intent to sell), you only receive a week of out-of-school suspension. Marijuana is taken very lightly now-a-days by most. On some college campuses, being caught with marijuana usually only forces the user to pay a small fine. Also, Denver citizens can now smoke and poses marijuana legally.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
