Drone on the beach

A responsible drone operator would have insurance covering their actions with the drone, in the same way you're required to have auto insurance as the operator of that vehicle. And as an aside, just because you're licensed and insured with a vehicle there are many public and private property locations where you cannot drive it.

It isn't always the operators fault either, let's say your Drone is made by Samsung and spontaneously starts on fire and crashes into one of the yachts at the Marina and subsequently destroys that boat and others. And there are many other situations that could be out of operator control that could lead to serious injury or death.

I say the same thing about fireworks, I'm very smart with them and take proper safety steps every time I lit them off, however I understand why they are illegal.

Um ... You understand why they are illegal, but you set fireworks off anyway. Because you're "very smart" and take "proper safety steps."

Given that you're unwilling to obey the law, I can't help but be skeptical about how smart and safe you are when flouting the law.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

My uncle has his license, so with him supervising we are ok to lite them off.

Is it OK for a highly skilled race car driver to drive 200 mph on the freeway? I don't care how skilled you are, incidents happen. I'm glad you will respect the no fly zone.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

If you really need to see pictures of the park (or the lake <?) from the air I'm sure you can find plenty to look at. Or go down the road away from Cedar Point property. The lake looks pretty much the same...

And a "well trained" (who knew?) operator is all a-ok until I shoot the drone down. :)

^Drone footage is neat though, good wide angled lens @ 4k & a decent framerate, it gives an interesting perspective, and amazing birds eye view shots/overpasses.

It'd be cool to fly from the lake over to dragster and watch it shoot across the track, I've wanted that shot for some time if I could get it timed right. But I'm not about to fly a drone over their property, that's their liability and I don't want it shot down either or to invalidate my license :)
