We will be heading to the point this October. I was planning on bringing my drone to get some shots of the lake. Does anyone know if I will be able to fly over the beach? (away from people)
All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are prohibited at (in) all Cedar Fair parks, including Cedar Point, and any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Cedar Point will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation. Drones may pose a potential safety risk and may violate Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
From CP website, and before you ask wether beach is in the park: 'observed over Cedar Point' obviously implies the Cedar Point Beach.

Not a good idea. Not that anyone would fly their expensive drone into a roller coaster, but you never know.

Talk to the parks, ask permission, make sure you comply w/ FAA regs, which will most likely follow VFR rules in that area, especially that there's only one active airstrip now in the area. They'll know what they allow, and then the FAA bit is up to you.

Yeah, this is a question best directed to the park directly. I can't imagine they'd allow you to do that ... but I don't work for Cedar Fair and what I imagine is meaningless.

Don't sell yourself short Noggin, your imagination is usually pretty entertaining.

You should see what my imagination does with Channing Tatum ... in a Speedo ... two sizes too small .... :-)

To me, the entirety of the Cedar Point resort is Cedar Point, not just the park itself. So the beach -- to me -- is included. But again, this is a question best directed to the park itself.
Excuse me, I have to get back to Channing now....

Can't wait until we get the post in October "CAN'T BELIEVE CEDAR POINT ARRESTED ME AND TOOK MY DRONEZ111!!!!111!".

it says nothing about the beach. That is why I was asking
Even if we assume their policy is ambiguous, the real question you should be asking (yourself) is: is it wise to fly a drone over the CP beach? The answer is unequivocally no. If you want "shots of the lake" there is no shortage of alternatives.

And even if we do assume their policy is ambiguous -- I'm someone who would rather err on the side of caution. No drone flying over private property, no matter how tempting it may be to hover over Kinzel's place for a while :-)
Oh, dear. Channing seems to have lost his Speedo....

^Are you flying a Drone in your head to visualize Mr. Tatum, or are you just a voyeur :P
But seriously. Don't fly it on point with proper credentials. People that disobey are the reason my drone license is expensive & I have to take a $150 test...
Don't be that guy.

I have a very vivid imagination. :-)
What you said about drones.
