Dragster Will Not Be Open Today (Friday, 8th)

I planned a trip to CP with my friend on Sunday, there and back in one day. It's a three hour trip for me, but anyway, I was really sad to hear that it was closed Friday and Saturday. I still had some hope but when I got to the park I saw that TTD wasn't running. So I went for a walk on ride on MF, then I went for a front seat ride on MF and as we reached the top of the hill I saw an empty dragster train launch and I was so excited I nearly forgot about the 300 foot drop that I was about to take. We headed straight over to Dragster but it took two and a half hours to get on it. I saw two rollbacks, but I don't know what all the other delays were, maybe the wind. I was so glad to get a ride on TTD, I only get to go to CP a couple times per year.

I agree DBCP, the short line was amazing. We were there on the 9th and 10th and we were a little discouraged the first day when it was down. But that seems to happen every year we go, it's down the first day and running the next.

On a separate note, my friend and I decided to give Mean Streak one last chance Sunday. We usually hate riding it, because it just hurts too much! But we thought what the heck, one last chance...yeah, the chain did not catch our car and shook the hell out of the trains with the loudest sound I've ever heard, lol. We had to be walked down...I definitely think that was a sign to us, lol.

Yeah, 2nd time this year for that Mean Streak incident... The crew seemed very excited to have been down for 2 hours when I saw them heading towards Park Operations after closing.

Woohoo, how lucky of me to get the chance to have been on the train that did it the second and last time this season :-P It was an interesting experience. I've always wanted to be walked down from a coaster, for whatever odd or twisted reason.

I drove by a little after it happened... it was funny to see a whole train of people sitting there, and maintenance just sitting there talking.

Haha yeah, it was fun. The guy behind me (we were like 2 cars back from the very front) was freaking out. He's like, there's no way I'm going to go on this now, I want off, this is some Final Destination 3 stuff going on!

Wow yes, danger, we're 10 feet up in the air, oh nooo! The ride op that came up to talk to us did a very good job of calming him down though, I believe he was the only one that seemed freaked out. He started telling him about Maverick, lol. But yeah, the crew were all very friendly and did a great job of handling the situation. That's what I love about Cedar Point and why I'll keep going back :)

Does Six Flags do that.....or even handle that kind of situation THAT well?:)

Just depends on what six flags you go to...

FYI, dragster was down because all the week before we were tryin to change a part (hence the crane) but it just took a little longer than expected. :-D
