CedarPoint.com says so.
I honestly cannot remember if daily updates are allowed so please delete or lock the post if not. I figure there's probably a couple people planning to go tonight that might miss the message on cedarpoint.com.

According to "Today in the Park" page, Mean Streak won't be open either.
"Rides available today (weather permitting) are: Chaos®, Troika, Blue Streak, Midway Carousel, Raptor®, Cedar Downs, Kiddy Kingdom (6 rides only), Cadillac Cars, Matterhorn, Scrambler, Skyhawk, Wave Swinger, Wicked Twister, WildCat, maXair, Iron Dragon, Mantis, Magnum, Power Tower and Millennium Force®. All other rides and Camp Snoopy will be closed."
What ?! Are you serious. Now I'm not even excited about going tonight. I wanted a ride on TTD.

It does appear that Mantis will be open even though it was not on the original list of rides, perhaps this is a compromise?
That is interesting. There could be the chance that the staffing isn't enough to operate the ride.

My guess is that there were maintence problems and it wasn't worth opening given the short hours. It seems strange that TTD would take that many more people than Mantis, but maybe I don't know what I am talking about.
TTD needs two rideops at controls, two or four checking the trains, one or two at unload, one at the entrance, one near the ramp of the queue, plus two or three at photo.
So the ride usually has around 13 people working it might be able to pull off 9, but that's still a lot for one ride.

My guess is that chance is about .05%.
They would probably send people AWAY from the smaller rides, to open up TTD, not the other way around.
Are all the rides open on Bonus Weekend Saturdays or is it just the standard Friday night ride availablitity?
Saturday and Sunday are normal operating days. Thunder Canyon most likely will be the only ride closed.

Actually Dragster needs three at unload, 4 at load, two in controls, 1 at entrance, and 1 at the ramp to operate. Photos are thru a different area of the park than ride operations so they don't count. So that brings it to 11 and that's not including breaks which brings it to 14. So it takes quite a few people to operate it. During peak season it takes 17 but there are around 27 on the crew with days off and the different schedulings
Has Thunder Canyon closed for the season yet?
I don't think Dragster is closed due to a staffing issue. I agree that they would probably shut down almost any of the other rides (except Millennium) to get staff over to Dragster. Probably is a maitnance issue.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Hello CP fans! Anyone go to the point tonight? Was TTD running? I'm planning on a trip Sunday, but may wait since my main reason on going is to ride TTD. Last fall TTD was down for the rest of the season, I hope not again! Thanks and ENJOY!!!
I was there last night.. Friday... dragster was indeed closed..... there was a very large crane there and it was set up over the engine house.. I asked several ridehosts what was wrong and they were non committal.. one did say einey meany miny moe.. pick a problem and threre you go!!! thought that was funny stuff right there.. it was very uncrowded about 15 miutes waits for everything except MF which was 30 minutes or so when we rode it
