We were at CP on Labor Day and they ran TTD until the line emptied (entrance closed) and then TTD was closed for "routine maintenance". It did open later and we finally got to ride right before closing. I hope she's not down for the count, we were soooooo looking forward to a TTD ride tomorrow!:)
Whoa wait! I was there on Labor Day and Dragster did NOT open up at night after it went down for "mechanical reasons". I would know, I was the very last person in line (as was Mark Small) and they announced that it was closed for the rest of the night. And it was still down when I left the park after being escorted to get a bonus ride on Millennium.

TTD 120mph,
I was there on Labor Day (Monday), I rode it right before closing right around 8 pm. What happened after that, well we were on our way home and she was still running. Maybe we are not talking about the same day? Or it I need to see a doctor about a pretty cool TDD hallucination I experienced. :)
That's not before closing, 10:10 is before closing when everyone lingers around TTD while it's closed and then if it re-opens, hordes of people jump in line again. I think I'm gonna go with TTD 120mph on this on and say that it was closed before and through the closing of the park for the night.
Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!

But the park closed at 8pm on Monday 9/4 (Labor Day). They closed the line at around 8:10, and it was still running for a while after that. We were at the end of the last switchback when they announced it was down mechanical, and several people in front of us left. We waited until the end, when they finally said it was down for the night, and escorted those that waited it out over to MF.
So I'm guessing they first thought it might have been the catch car, but finally determined it was something more serious, and shut it down.

Dont forget the ear splitting announcements from Miss Loudmouth. She was the worst part of the downtime (next to the actual downtime).:) lol

Yes! Now it says all rides are scheduled to be in operation today. It's not giving up yet it looks like.

ROFL!! How could we forget. I think my ears are still ringing...hehe
Guess we'll have to make sure we have earplugs next time.
Anyway, it's great that it's back open. I was really getting worried. Major kudos to the maintenance guys for getting it back up and running. Let's just hope it stays that way.
My friend actually called me on my way home and said he heard that Dragster had closed down for maintenance reasons and was just calling to make sure.;)

I was bummed when I checked the CP web site this morning and TTD was to be down. We left the house thinking she was down again and as we made the turn up the causeway we saw that TTD was running afterall. Lots of delays when we rode around lunch time, but Later she ran great and the line shrunk to half hour or so. ENJOY!!!:) :) :)

ROFL...I've been offline for a couple of days. Sorry Adam, but knowing how much you love Dragster, that reaction was absolutely hysterical to me.
Seriously though, I'm glad its back up and running. I finally had the pleasure of having ridden Dragster this year after several failed attempts in the past. She even said 'hello' by boxing my left ear on my first trip up the tower. :)
It ran very well today... some of the best intervals I've ever seen. And a nice, short line to boot!

Yeah, they were really running awesome later in the day! Me and my buddy got in the front seat in about 20 minutes! BTW, that was the longest wait of the day and we didn't ride anywhere but front seat on everything (literally - nothing but front all day) and we re-rode a couple rides..
