Dragster Question

Well, I'm hoping to hit Dragster for the first time on the 14th, so this answered a lot of my questions. Thanks.

I Think the Dragster is way over-rated. Its not that great of a ride. (although i do loooove it!)Come on, you launch, go over a tall hill, then go down! Its over in 15 seconds, after spending half the day waiting in line for it, and all the time u cant see a thing! What I dont get is that the taller and faster they build roller coasters, the shorter the ride time is!?!?!?

20 seconds YES, a very exciting 20 seconds....YES!!

It may be a waste of time but what else are you going to do when it comes to Cedar Point's coasters. No matter where you go, there's a line(not all rides;)). Dragster still pulls in the same people dont it? They fuss over how short it is but their singing a different tune after they ride it. And then start complaining 15 minutes later. It's a never ending cycle. *** Edited 5/3/2005 2:26:39 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

How can anyone say its a waste of time. It might be a short ride but think about how fast you're going. Im sure if you go 120mph on the Blue Streak it would be about the same time length. Just for the 20 second thrill im willing to wait in line for however long I need to.

Dragster is worth about 1 ride a trip. There are other coasters (about 12 of them actually) that are more worth the wait. I've never waited more than an hour, and I don't think I would ever WANT to wait much more than that for Dragster.

Yeah, but if you have the time at the end of the day and the wait's not long then it dosn't hurt to ride it again. I do it everytime I go.

That taller=shorter rule? Not so for Millennium Force.

No, the get in line before park closing = you spend time in line that you otherwise wouldn't be able to ride any rides in waiting in line for one last ride.

I agree with "TTD120mph", every one will say it is a piece of crap and not worth the wait about a day or two after they forget the experience(wich is very short). But if you stood at the exit I don't think you would find one person that would say it was not awsome, or not worth the wait.

Kind of like you said RaptorFan, if a person gets off and says "Thats it!?",they're really thinking "man that was awesome!"
I guess if you have to ride it more to really appreciate it. But that very first ride(if you're a 1st rider) takes you completely by surprise and you get hooked......if you enjoyed it. *** Edited 5/4/2005 3:37:15 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

I agree with what mdomnis said before, the first time is a blur, but the next few subsequent ones are the ones you take in. Now for me its the thrill of riding with friends who are riding for the first time and seeing their reactions...seeing how scared they are...and how they feel after the ride. Other than that I could do without riding every trip, and half the trips I don't have a choice since its closed all day...

I finally rode the DRAGSTER and that is beyond a doubt the best ride I've ever been on. I just happened to go on the perfect day and got about ten rides in. I must be lucky cause I had 3 ROLLBACKS altogether, 2 of which were both in a row when I was front seat.

Beginners luck, something I didn't have, my first ride was normal. Sounds like you had a good time BongKong.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I have a question about dragster...what are those posts sticking out of the ground in the grass in front of the tower. They look they're about to make an arrow, but then stop. Just always been curious. Here's a picture of them....http://www.rcdb.com/ig1896.htm?picture=55

Those are the lights that shine on the tower at night.

Those are the same lights that blind Witches Wheel employees. :)
