Honestly, Shawn, I don't think many of us do know if this ride is going to open up in a month, nevertheless a few days. We can all just wish that it will be open, but nobody knows the answer, not even the people who are fixing it right now as we read these posts. But I wish you the best of luck with your trips.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

ummm doubtfull thats why it is prdicted for the 4th, read threads my friend, and the website

Ummm, read your own post, Mean Streaker. Prediction. So, no, the manufacturers don't know for sure, I have a feeling that they may not reach that projection date, it may open before, it may open after..

"What time does the 10 pm laser show start?"

ok so i worded my post a little wrong, oops everybody makes a mistake, and neo , do you get pleasure out of complaining, because you seem to do that a lot lately, and alot of them seem to be geared towards me...do you have a resentment towards me or what???

anyways i hope dragster is open by the fourth, that way i can go to cp and ride ALL the other rides because hopefully the lines will be somewhat shorten by dragster being opened, although it is the fourth, so there wont be very short lines but o well...

Dragster is down for the remainder of the season
And you know this how? The OFFICIAL website says they hope to have it up this coming weekend. Dick Kinzel reported on a radio program over the weekend he planned to ride Dragster on the 4th.

It's funny that you would actually rely on the OFFICIAL website and what it says. It is not updated nearly enough and is wrong most the time. It is just about as reliable as the webcam! And how do I know TTD will be down for the season? Common sense. Unless you wanna count one or two launches and then a breakdown for an hour or two (its been down nearly a month) then go ahead and say its running. I don't count that as neither reliable or running! So basically you should say it will be down for the remainder of the season because they WILL NOT have it running consistently by mid-july trust me. I bet it hardly runs the 4th without problems. Mr. Kinzel even sounds doubtful! In addition, I have a very reliable source working at CP as we speak so I'm not too far off here!

I would think that "common sense" would dictate that whatever the park tells you is the official word.

Then again, there isn't much sense on this forum as of late, let alone common sense.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

rather than start a new thread, i thought i would just resurrect this one...

shouldn't they be testing now if they want it to be open by Friday??

it would make sense, at least in my mind, to test for a couple of days...

it aint the size of the arrow, its what you do with the bow....

I think it would make sense to make sure everything is fixed before you test it ;) They still have parts all over. Besides, it's not like the ride hasn't been run before.

I'm gonna take what the park gives me, I think they know what they're talking about. After all, it is their ride.

enfynet, since i havent been to the park lately (long drive from Illinois) i didnt know they still have parts all over the place...

that said, shouldnt they at LEAST have it back together by now? ;)

They were tightening bolts and such. There are still kicker wheels off, but nothing big. I wouldn't say it won't be ready, they still have today and tomorrow if they want it done for opening on the 4th.

They wouldn't be doing this much work on the ride if they think the ride won't even work. And like it said in the article closing the ride will be their last resort. That may mean they have a lot of other ways to go before they just close it down for the rest of the season. I couldn't see CP giving up this early, but who knows?

------------------
CP Coaster Guide Ride Count
TTD: 1, WT: 9, MF: 4, Mantis: 3, Raptor: 6, Mean Streak: 5, Magnum: 5

You don't know that they aren't doing testing...

If they're running the catch car, you would never see it on the web cams.......

And if they're just running out the hydraulic system, well, that wouldn't require operating the motor at all if all the work is on the pressure side...

Aren't they making the decision tommorow?
Having worked in Ride Operations for 3 years , I can honestly say there are doing everything to get it running. If they knew they couldn't, they would say that on the website. Last year, they didn't give up on Wicked Twister, did they? Did they ever give up on Millenium Force? What about Magnum, and Gemini, and Mean Streak, and White Water Landing? Those rides have all had some major problems at some point in ther life, and they never gave up on them. Why start now. Just my 2 cents.

Keep in mind that the status report said the 4th of July WEEKEND, so it doesn't necessarily have to be Friday when they reopen it. They can open it Saturday or Sunday as well. Hopefully they won't have to close it for the rest of the season, though.

I agree with that 100% although, they must do what they have to do, wouldn't you like it closed and then very reliable next year, or 6 trains launched, then an hour or 2 of downtime.... but I also dont want it to be closed.

Hey people! It says closing dragster as LAST RESORT. So if it says last resort, it's the last thing they probably think of doing before they think about closing it. they are also probably warning the public that TTD MAY CLOSE early so people so people won't be shocked that it's closed. Like MineRideDustin said that every ride has its major downtime during the time its operating. So probably it's going to open July 4th-6th. Theres just that small chance that it's going to close for the rest of the season. Do any of you people understand what I'm saying?
