Dragster Not Open til' the 4th

Just read on the status report TTD is estimated to open for the 4th of July weekend possibly. There must really be something wrong with the hydraulic's again. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Guess it works for me, as I'm leaving tommorow for Myrtle Beach and will be there thru the 4th. I'm still going to miss my weekly visit to the point, but they have a small park down there with a decent looking woodie so it'll be interesting. I think it's kind of smart of them to have this extended downtime to try and get everything figured out rather than opening and closing it 10 times in a single day.

:-( Oh well, Wicked twister, Millenium Force, and Raptor all day for me than. But one thing I haven't done yet is go to Cedar Point and enjoy the shows that they have, I sometimes forget that they have something other than rides, I enjoyed the splash show and if you have ever seen than, than it is another thrill after somebody get's on the eighty foot dive, If you look at the pool, it only looks like twelve feet deep max. I didn't even want to watch them at what I figure is forty feet.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Well, it's nice of them to offer an estimate of its opening time; I just hope people don't start screeching about it if the 4th rolls by without an opening.

Anyhoo, I'm going back on Tuesday, and plan on having a great time, as usual. Dragster will open when it's ready.

I would be surprised if it opened by then! We can all hope, though. It would be nice if it opened by then, but you never know.

Dear Valued Guest, I regret to inform you that Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, is not currently in operation because of mechanical problems.

It's already been a few days short of a month since my last ride. Whenever this thing opens, it'll be like my first ride all over again.

The last time it was running before this latest breakdown I was in the station second to getting on. Gosh, I was so close, yet I did get a freeway pass for Dragster so I guess it all works out.

I was in line right before the latest breakdown too, If it had opened I would have been on the second train out (I got in line 2). I got 2 exit passes, one for TTD and one for any other ride.

Evan, you had to be right next to me in line as I was waiting for the second train, first car, and ended up being the next person to get into the train if it would have opened up.

Well right now they are moveing the cars back on the track maybe they are going to start some testing. I hope because I will be going on the 1st and 2nd of July.
I'll be there for the weekend of the fourth, so hopefully I'll get a ride or two on it. If not, then next year. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I drove 11 hours to get there only to see the cable snap before my eyes. But this must just be a waste of space that I am typing in.....

Edit: I could of complained but the point was to have fun with everything else that was in the park. I was able to hit every other coaster at least twice if not more and it was the best time ever. This was my third trip to the point and it gets better everytime. The fourth will be even better when they have TTD up. :)

Big Daddy - just go and have fun which you will and you can complain about TTD being down. It kind of sucks not having it running but you will love MF. Nothing better then a morning ride in front and a late night ride in the back.

Hey photonix. Your post was a waste of space. I just want you to know that.

As for CoasterMike, If you haven't ridden MF yet, then I'm sure you'll enjoy that crazy contraption enough to not even worry about riding Dragster.

It seems that a lot of what is said in the forums is either complaining or bashing other people for the most stupid reasons. Since TTD has been down, complaining is the main thing that is posted on these forums. We are all upset but there is nothing you can do about it. We should be lucky that CP even invested in getting a new ride this year, let alone a record breaker. It is better than nothing and many of you have had the chance to experience the ride. I for one have never been to Cedar Point and experienced thrills like the ones in this park. I am only 15 and live in Buffalo where Six Flags Darien Lake is considered the best thing. Therefore I can't drive down and everything depends on weither my parents want to take me or not. Luckily I should be going this summer and am very excited. This closure until the fourth might even result in full uptime and little downtime for all we know which would be great. Then everyone here would be a little more thankful that the ride closed down for maintenence and when it opened would run great. Its still early in the season, CP will be open a lot more days. My best goes to Cedar Point for working as hard as they can to get TTD back up and running. And I don't care if this is a waste of space because hearing people complaining and flaming each other is a waste of space to me.
I am planning to take a few relatives up there on the 4th of July also or around there, it's going to be great, they haven't seen this massive structure yet! So I hope to get to see soem of you in the next few weeks at the POINT! But he doesn't sound optomistic, but he is playing it smart. It is better to say "it might open by then, that's our goal" so that way people can't say they are a dissappointment just because of the timing.

But I have this feeling that they are going to open this ride well before than.

However, on the flip side of the coin, it is not better to say that it may be open by then, they keep saying that over and over, and folks have been let down time and time again, I would think it better to say: look, we've got problems with this ride, and it will not be open until they are solved.

"What time does the 10 pm laser show start?"

I have heard that the trains will be on track soon, and I have my fingers crossed that they will start testing... The statement regarding TTD should be:

We are experiencing extended downtime with our newest coaster, Top Thrill Dragster and we will open it as soon as all of the problems are corrected. (Its better than saying "It may be open my the 4th of July, because if it isnt, then you are letting many people down, although, people do want a date I presume)
