I didn't start last year until June and I was wondering what kind of shifts we will be working on opening weekend since it seems like there will still be a good number our crew in school. Are the first few weekends O-C days? Like I said I'm not familiar with working in May so I'm interested in any info on how this part of the season differs from the rest of the season.

For me during May I am only working weekends because of school. On Sunday will I be expected to Close knowing that I will have to drive back to Columbus after my shift Sunday night?

Yes dbdb.............you are right the opening weekend and the beginning weeks you will probably be working O-C. But don't forget that the park is only open till 8pm. I hope you don't think that is bad just wait till you have to O-C on an 11 o'clock close and the ride is being it's usual self so you don't get out until about 2 or 2:30 in the morning and then you'll have to be back into work at7:30am. Oh, the joys of working on Dragster.

I don't mind the late hours and little sleep once 11 o'clock closings start, long hours is the reason I requested Dragster. My main concern was during May when I will be coming back and forth on the weekends. Its just that while i'm in school I really don't want to get home to Columbus Sunday nite at 3 am then have to wake up and make it to my early Monday classes. Thanks for the input though.

dbdb.....2003, if management chooses to permit scheduling on dragster to remain the same as last season, then don't worry too much. Last season, everybody that had a long drive to get to school was scheduled as either an O-6 or an O-8/cutback on Sundays so they could head back to school at a reasonable hour.

It's not really up to management, the leadership on the ride decides that stuff. I gave short shifts out on Halloweekends according to who's got the long drive.
