The only mention of the cable snap in this entire thread is something someone heard on a different web site. Even that person said he wasn't sure. And unless I'm reading a different thread, you're not the "ONLY" person that will say you're "NOT SURE" what it is.
Before you criticize, slow down and read.

I had heard from thepointol that the cable had snapped. I am not sure if this is true or not but it would explain alot.
Someone just posted it in a Millennium thread from when the cable snapped. No one said the cable snapped.

It's not the cable. I was there yesterday and today, and I heard that it would be 3 to 4 days to get it up and running. A blown gear box or lift motor tends to be the best guess right now because, as we left today, at the base of the lift by the spool there was a large yellow PTO shaft layingt out not connected to anything.
I assume the park didn't have any spares, so they probably ripped it out, flew it to Intamin and is having them repair/replace it. I doubt it will be down for Memorial Day weekend (friday included).

Well this is something new! :)
Lol I'm thinking the same thing, this is something people would expect from Dragster (though I think it's still to early for a "I told you so"^_^).
And I bet all the people going (Vince, Ben) while it's down wont bother going on Dragster even though it'll be open.:)
Seriously though, I hope they fix the problem soon, I dont like seeing Millennium down just as much as I dont like seeing Dragster down.

Umm... as far as being all lies... I know where the counterweight is, and I know the frame that holds it up. This was another metal box. Just outside the motor room... not attached to anything.
I never claimed it was a part of the brake-down, just something that was out of place from normal operation...
And who said the cable snapped?

Opps sorry I meant to say Fastball but I just realized he already went. I apologize.
Plus I was just joshing.:) And of course plenty can be done even if Dragster or Millennium were to be down. When I went the 11th, Dragster was down all day due to the high winds.....yet my 3 friends (all of which had never been on Millennium) and myself had a BLAST!! Though that's not to say I wasnt sad whenever I pasted the station and enterance going to Magnum.....I have pictures to prove.:)

I never saw any yellow piece under the lift... Just a metal covering of some type just outside of the motor room. There were people around it at the time, so it may have been replaced. It was this morning at approximately 10:30 AM *** Edited 5/22/2006 1:33:28 AM UTC by Josh M.***

All pieces at the lift are in their normal positions, however, stress has been taken off the cable, so there is slack in it (still, hardly any slack)
There was slack in it all day until about 8:00 when I left. The cable was taught, and there was a small boom crane in the down position directly under the spool, and it seemed they were done for the day. I hope that is a good thing :-)
