I was at the point Sun/Mon and saw a lot of stuff happening in and around MF. Most of what has been said is true about the evacuation by the elevator... etc. Does seem to be the catch car, but I think something else is wrong as well. There was a piece in shrink wrap under the station. Also, work was being done basically non stop in the cable room that is farther away from the station and under the lift (not sure what this is called). Also, by the time I left on Monday they had the cable moving slowly and the yellow car was in the main station (It was resting outside of unload station for most of sun night and monday morning.
There hasn't been anything that leads us to believe it will be open next week... or anything that leads us to believe it will be closed next week... Take it day by day...
"Attention guests on the midway, at this time Millennium Force is down to a mechanical reason... at this time we do not have an estimation as to the length of this delay, but maintenance is currently working on the situation, and we will be up and running as soon as possible... again, at this time Millennium Force is down due to mechanical reasons, and we do not have an estimation as to the length of this delay... We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point"

Josh, I made a fool of myself the last weekend I was at the park. A guy named Josh on MF came up to me and asked me about my '04 MF Crew Shirt, and I was like "Oh! Are you Josh from PointBuzz"... and he gave me the stupidest look and said... "No, theres another Josh..." So I was trying to introduce myself and failed miserably...
Yeah, there's another Josh...haha.

I guess everyone knows this already but it appears Walt put some photos of the train stuck at the top with the mechanics all around it. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=12
Oh and Shawn, the catchcar looks like this: http://www.rcdb.com/ig594.htm?picture=11 (center of the track)

Goodbye MrScott
John
I was there (CP) on Monday and one of the Skyhawk workers said that the chip in the yellow train on MF was messed up so that it said that lap bars were open when closed and vice versa. I take it "with a grain of salt" because if that were the only problen, then they could just run the other two trains and put yellow on the transfer track. Again, it isn't a reliable source, but just something that I heard from an employee, so I thought that I should pass it on to you. Hopefully, the Force will open up VERY SOON and STAY OPEN for a LONG TIME! By the way, I will probably write up a trip report tomorrow.
P.S. Monday night, I saw the cable and catch car going up the hill (without a train attached), so it looks like they have the cable working. Hopefully, this means that it will reopen soon. However, it could also mean that there is another serious problem, seeing as Millennium is still closed today.

Hmm, just hope for the best I guess! I'm going there on 4th of June through the 8th, and hopefully for at least one of those days it'll be running okay. My friend who has never been to Cedar Point is coming along and she's been wanting to go on Millennium Force for quite some time. It'd be a bummer if it were closed, but hey, it just gives us another reason to come back sooner.

There is no "chip"... Your lap bar can be up or down and the train will leave the station... In fact when the water dummies take their morning test rides, the lapbars are almost fully up.... I do wish we had a bit more info about the downtime though... Since Im going this weekend...

Wow, some people just love their rumors.
I'll clarify a few things: Its the catch car, 100%.
The item on a crate below the platform is a backup motor for the wheels that push the train thru the station. Its been there for a while.
I have no idea whats going on, but I don't see this downtime lasting more than a few more days.
The Skyhawk worker who said it was a lapbar chip is laughable.

Guys, as I stated before... the catch car.And BTW, the catch car is still at the top of the hill. I saw it there all day yesterday.
No, not anymore it is not. Last night when we drove past, it was in its normal position in the station.

Maybe that means they got it fixed, it will work later today when the park opens in a few hours who knows.
Millennium Force did one single test run on Monday night at 8:21pm, though it did look very slow. I caught a glimpse of it going down the hill and into the final overbanked turn where it crawled through. It just didn't seem up to speed.
It better be open by Sat. I would be really pissed if I just traveled over 800 miles just to find the best coaster in the world broken down.
