For the record, I did not "call you a name", I put you into a category. I'll still call you Steve.
I'm more than happy to discuss the parts of Cedar Point I feel could use some improvement. There are many. The problem, Steve, is that much like your insistence that there is some kind of lax attention and/or cover-up involving Shoot the Rapids, your arguments just don't hold up, and it comes across as...well...whining.
Like RCMAC said, I'm frankly surprised you still set foot in the park.
Cedar Point is fun. Have it.
Promoter of fog.
Steve you said projects were cheaply done. Do you realize that in the 70s material was alot cheaper. Not to mention labor. So yeah your right the projects were cheaper. Nowadays minimum wage is over 8/hr. Energy costs are higher. The rides are larger and require more energy to run. It was time for the company to raise the gate. The raise in tickets at the hotel still is the best deal you can get. Your arguement that the park isn't a better value today than it was in the past is only based on your opinion.
Dinosaurs Alive when added was advertised as a temporary exibit and still is only temporary. They had the oppertunity to use vacant land for a no risk exibit. If it didn't create revenue the company that owns the dinos would have lost money. It wasn't something that was in their 5 year plan. Not much different than the John Deere advertisement exibit. I myself am more interested in what becomes of The vacant land than seeing the dinosaurs. Just happy that they don't have to tear down Mean Streak to satisfy the need for something new.
My first visit to the point I played in King Aurthurs Court and marathoned the burlap bag slide. KI and CP both had 2 log flumes. It's not 1984 anymore. If you look at the park today it is unbelievable what it has grown into. To think that them using vacant land for a temporary upcharge exibit would upset someone is insane. or it's the cups.
Taking care of deferred maintenance, which the park has been catching up on doing, is a positive.
While the park was going through the growth spurt in the 90s, like many other sectors of the economy, it began to neglect anything other than adding a headline attraction.
Again, like other sectors of the economy, the Great Recession has caused the park to go back to basics.

The trouble is that most of you can somehow justify everything the park does as positive. When anyone posts something even remotely negative, the shutdown response comes out in full force.Sure is nice living in a Socialistic world isn't it?
Actually most people on here would not hesitate to post constructive criticism or justified complaints about the park. The trouble with you is that very predictably everything is a criticism or complaint. That gets extremely old and annoying and really you have zero credibility with me at this point. If the park would announce that every guest through the gate gets a $10 bill, I would expect you to provide some type of negative feedback like "the $10 bills suck because they are wrinkled and old".
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
