Haha, my dad calls the Wicked Twister the Twisted Sister.
The funniest one I have ever heard is a girl behind me in line for Millenium force said she was at the park one day when the train got stuck at the very top of MF, and the firemen came and took the passengers out with their LADDER. I laughed for hours after that one.
This wasn't in line but, I remember one time I was walking towards TTD, and there was this lady not far from me walking with some people. I saw her pointing at TTD and she was asking what it does. The guy pointed and showed her that it goes up, turns, goes over the top, and comes back down while twisting. She started asking does it go upside-down? and once again so what does it do? And I am thinking geez...can't you see clearly what it does just by looking at it. I couldn't take it anymore so I started walking faster just to escape those people lol.
One time last year, I heard someone say that the Breakers Tower was built because that wing burnt down, killing 8 people. Ey-yi-yi-yi.
This one isn't stupidity, just misinformed: "Mom, let's ride The Beast, that big wood one in the back by the cottages."
How about this genius: "What's the name of the red coaster by the Breakers?" "Magnum?" "No that's not it. It begins with a T." "It's Magnum honey. I was here when it first opened." "No, I swere it begins with T. Top Fuel Dragster." "That's Top Thrill Dragster. And that's the red one with yellow supports in the middle of the park." "Fine. Whatever you say." Or something to the tune on that. That was in the queue for Raptor.
Since the Magnum is sinking (old news) they have a plan to pack it up and ship it to Michigan's Adventure. This is to make room for a new coaster that will be opening next year. If this is true, shouldn't they be starting to take it apart soon? We'll have to keep our eyes out!
I got stuck on gemini last week. There was 4 young teens in front of me. One said that a girl died last year on TTD. Because it rolled backwards, her heart exploded because a childs heart is weaker than an adult. I laughed out loud but they did not hear me. The other 3 seemed to agree upon the story. It was pretty funny.
Today I was in line for WT. (You can see part of the diving show from certain parts of the line) That is when I heard someone ask "what is going on over there?" a moment later someone responded with "Oh, Thats the dolphin show!!!!" *** Edited 6/8/2004 4:26:16 AM UTC by mikey1981***
It's funny when I'm at the park I'll be talking with people and I tell them all the stats about a coaster. Now heres the funny part. They try to challenge me with questions because they think I'm dumb. I post here and on ACN and have done a lot of reading when it comes to coasters. I look up stats, and check out whats new every week.
Once when I was in line for Raptor there were 3 guys behind me that claimed that Raptor was the only roller coaster that your feet hang down in. I was like, uh, then where do your feet go on Wicked Twister.....some people....

I never heard of the ride called Freeway have you?
It's called I-696, and its only really a ride during rush hour. And it is quite fun becuase unless somethings messed it up, you run bumper to bumper at 55+ MPH.

I wish they would (j/k). Or put in a good 250+ footer it doesn't need to be a record breaker but it would be nice to have a good size steely to ride.

This weekend i heard somebody in line for wicked twister say "yeah my friend rode dragster last year, and the next week he had to get his kidney taken out"

Currently on tour: Who knows where
The best one i ever heard was about the girl that was riding power tower and got scalped. And people believe this how? If that happend the ride wouldn't be running anymore or it would have more rules and stafey features.

I am an avid coaster enthusiast, have been for years, and one summer when working at town hall the only approved reading material was the Cedar Point manual which is about 300 pages of hot pink paper bound together by one of those removable black plastic thingies. It's the book the people who work the information line use. It has everything from how many soda machines there are in the park, to all the ride statistics, and I knew it front to back as well as my previous coaster knowlege, and the knowledge you gain from just working at the park 2 summers. Also, we had a CP history book that I knew equally well. the thing that always got me, were many coaster enthusiasts from a certain enthusiast group (which will remain nameless) would come in and ask me questions, I would give them answers, then they would stand there and fight about it with me. About how my answer was wrong. 1. the answers weren't wrong. I'd even back it up and show them in the appropriate cp reference book. 2. if they were so sure they already knew the answer, why would they ask in the first place? Ugh.
While standing in line for Iron Dragon, I met two boys who told me that two people were killled on Top Thrill Dragster last year (one by choking on gum) and the other by cracking his neck as the ride was taking off. Then, ond of them told me they rode TTD and it exceeded the speed limit because they were clocked at going 180 mph and it was only supposed to go 140 mph!!! They also said they were on a roller coaster that goes upside and down and it broke down and the got stuck upside down in a loop.
The getting stuck on the loop thing is true, but not at Cedar Point. It was somewhere in California I believe, they had it on the Discovery Channel. When i rode magnum for the first time this year some kids about my age were sitting in front of us talking to eachother about how they heard that Magnum goes into tunnels that go into the lake then back out again. LOL. I didn't say anything they were bigger than me.
While at PKI I heard that Vortex is the tallest coaster in the world. Then someone corrected them and told them it was only the tallest one in the US. Thank goodness! That person could've been walking around misinformed and make a fool of themselves!

If someone actually got scalped...which I don't see possible, they would probably modify the "cars" so the gap near your head is covered.
Demon got stuck in the loop from the borken wheel chassy in the back. I have heard some girl did get scalped on PT just because her hair was to long. A old lady on Wildcat died of a heart attact not TTD. The only really stupid question some one asked me was in line for TTD, "how do they launch the train?"
One time my friend saw the magnum train go flying off the second hill, jumped right over the dip between teh 2nd and 3rd hill and it must have been with the help of the wind, but I guess it landed right on the top of the third hill, then just kept going normally.
I love it. The guy in line for TTD claimed he had ridden TTD over 100 times. Believeable. But, the thing thatgot me was he showed me a card of all the times hes ridden it, and the years. It looked something like this.
Dragster
2001:25
2002:30
2003:25
2004:20
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with his card?
