Sorry, didn't mean to sound like bickering.
Quoting a post with responses to each line/paragraph is pretty common on the internet (at least with my background on usenet and bbs) and is a good way to make sure you don't forget anything.
I just felt an explanation was needed and I didn't want to forget anything. Didn't realize the post was going to end up so long! (I guess the negative subject line didn't help, but I couldn't remember the subject line from the night before).
Cheers
You also have to remember that some people here are VERY proud of their homepark. If you ever check out the Forums on Coasterbuzz, people get in arguements all the time because someone will say something negative about another park.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience at CP this time, but don't let it get you down. I've been going to the park for years and while there is an occasional bad trip, the times when I have a good trip make me completely forget about the bad. ;)

First, Natalie is (or was anyway) one of the nicest people I have ever seen work at CP. What she posted is normal, ;) I know a lot of us here, myself including, know that CP may not be the greatest place nor is perfect. We criticize the park more than anyone but even then it's met with some opposition, like here. Be prepared to take some heat, but it's nothing personal. Now back to our discussion
It took me 1 minute to find the breakers express address in the online yellow pages
1201 Cedar Point Road, Sandusky, OH 44870
I don't know why are how a CP rep would not know this simple information. Maybe they should hire me (not).
Yes, PKI does handle big items with sperate unload and loading stations. Notice the capacity on those rides though (*cough*FoF)? They don't pull anything near what even Wicked Twister does. It took 3 minutes to dispatch my train becuase of all the crap that was left around.
The one thing I do agree on is lockers should be free( like at US/IOA) or be kept at a minimal cost.

Did you try mapping it with Yahoo? :)
It looks like it maps to the Chausee (where we arrived at the park from) from the picture :)
I guess their mailing address differs from their location.

Boy I think Ride of Steel has permanent PMS!! I am sure she is nice in person but tries to be a Bad A** in her posts.
Maybe she was just having a bad day? :shrugs:
She does seem a little short tempered though after reading some of her other posts.
In the future, it might be advisable to get at least two sets of directions to the place you're headed and become familiar with them before you actually hit the road. One set of directions should probably be obtained from the park's website or brochure, and another could come from an internet source such as MapQuest or from a travel agency such as AAA. If you do a lot of traveling by car, AAA is a very good deal, and they prepare TripTiks for you free of charge (after you pay your membership) which include highlighted maps of your exact route as well as a tour book for the area you'll be visiting, which contains addresses, phone numbers, and reviews of hotels, restaurants, and other attractions. They also offer discounted tickets to most of the major amusement parks in the country.
I always try to read all the park's policies (such as the one about personal items on rides) before arriving, and if I absolutely have to be carrying something with me in the park, I'll either ask someone who is familiar with the park or call the park itself and ask. I personally don't feel safe leaving anything in a station while I ride, and I see no reason why you have to carry a bag or purse with you anyway, especially if you're wearing a coat. That's what pockets were designed for. Hopefully you can prepare a bit more for your next trip and not have these problems again.
Now people who know me will tell you that I'm not really a Cedar Point diehard and I don't support a lot of their actions, but the things you described in your post aren't really any fault of anybody at Cedar Point. It isn't my favorite park and none of the rides there are my favorite rides. I did work there, because I still believe that operations at CP are way above pretty much any other park out there, but I can see problems that the park has just as well as anyone else. Just don't perceive the things that you mentioned to be problems of the park, that's all.

We had two sets of directions. One set from CP, and one set from Yahoo (which uses Mapquest). We did make it to the hotel, no thanks to Cedar Point's (mis)directions to BE.
I actually advised my gf not to bring the purse, but she did anyway, and I didn't think it would be a problem considering it's size (smaller than 99% of "fanny" packs, and it in fact was NOT a problem on any of the others rides) and it turned out not to be a real problem because it was so small you couldn't see it under her jacket. She would not have left it in the station (at least not with any money in it...we're not stupid...I don't know how I lead anyone to believe that we wanted to leave valuable stuff just laying around). My "problem" is with items of lesser value that you buy or win at the park.
I thought this would be a good place to bring up park policies etc considering this was the general forum. I just thought it odd that a resort did not list it's location, the park forces you to return to your car or rent a locker at $.75 a pop (larger lockers cost more) if you buy any souvineers or win anything if you play any of their games.
The losing money in the locker, the parking attendants waving us on to the back of the park (I guess we got there too late for them to be directing traffic to parking places as they did the next two days), signs directing us to get change to a place where they would not give us change, etc were just part of the story, not necessarily 100% CP's fault.
Now if guests are stupid for wanting directions to hotel they would like to stay at, or for wanting to be able to carry a few items they bought while at the park with them....well call me stupid then.
The purse was not a problem on any OTHER ride because Millennium Force has special rules regarding loose articles. That's all.

I do get it, and that's my point. MF has special rules and there is no reason IMO for these special rules...well, the reason is probably to get you to use those nice lockers they built right next to the queue. MF probably pulls less Gs than any other coaster in the park (except maybe Iron Dragon) and yet it has the most strict rules.
Besides, we already went over WHY people like you don't make the rules. You have to listen to them, regardless of your opinion. Such is life, Mr. Kentucky.
