A family of 1. :-)

Can you bring your own food into a restaurant to eat?

They have a picnic area/pavilion to the left of the front entrance and season pass center were you can do that.

If it's hot out, I would prefer to eat in air conditioning. Could I bring my own food into Midway Market and eat?

From the website

Guests are not permitted to bring any food or drink items into the park. However, individual, unopened water bottles, as well as special diet/need items, may be brought into the park. We do have public picnic shelters located outside the Main Entrance. Guests with coolers, baskets and other carry-in items can place them on a picnic table in these areas. Cedar Point is not responsible for items left unattended in the picnic shelters. Shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Soak City does not have a public picnic shelter.

CactusSpade:

Do you regularly bring food into restaurants near your home?

Just wondering.

Sure, you can take your own food in. You still have to pay the $17.99 per person entrance fee though.

IF it's still gonna be $17.99 + tax this year !

Apparently my family is the anomaly when it comes to Midway Market. We have lunch there every time we go to the park. Kids are happy with it, especially with last year's addition of the FreeStyle. I know it is not the highest quality food and at face value it does sound expensive but I feel there is enough value there, even with the nearly $20 price, for us to justify eating there. As an example, an order of nachos and a coke costs nearly $10 in the park. I can get that at MM and only need to eat a little more to get my $20 worth.

Would I eat there if it was not inside the park - no way. But as far as food goes inside the park it seems like a good deal to me.

I have only eaten at Midway Market once, that was for free at the Halloweekends kick-off event last September. Actually, my girlfriend and I thought it was pretty good.

The Midway Market does occupy the same food quality echelon as Aldi-brand frozen peas, but darn it all if I'm not satisfied stuffing myself silly there.

So do you guys all prefer Midway Market or Subway? Which is the better value for the freshest food?

Famous Daves has really good food. I enjoy eating there at the park. Expensive though. My wife and I got the 2 person homestyle meal once and there was enough to feed 3 easy. Definitely better that Midway Market. If you figure $18 x 5 = $92 Dave's is probably a steal. Figuring you get good food. Not a big fan of TGIF. Too small of portions.

I have eaten at Famous Dave's....pretty good food. Plus, you get a nice break from the park.

I frequent Famous Dave's quite a bit and the prices are not much higher than the Famous Dave's here in Toledo. Food has always been good. It's great hanging out at the marina. We will even drop and dock to eat if we are out on the boat.

That's not terribly expensive for a buffet.

For a whole family, no. But that's the per person price.

So for a family of 4, that's 71.96 + tax.

And doesn't even include alcohol.

I realize that, and it's still not that high. At least not based on the buffets I've been to. It's a premium price, sure, but it's what I'd expect from a buffet in an amusement park.

And frankly, I wouldn't dare eat anything from a buffet that was $4.50/person for all you can eat. That's terrifying.

Brandon

Well, you got yer Golden Corral out there at 10 bucks a person then you got yer casino buffets out there at 30. Proving again you get what you pay for.
I'd put Midway Market at the level of a much smaller Golden Corral, with an uptick in price due to location.
I can't think of many restaurants these days where four people can eat for under eighty bucks.
