CP Food Quality

I was wondering, what is the worst CP food? As in, a particular restaurant or stand?

Midway Market, without question.

I think it's a hit or miss with Midway Market as I've had good AND bad food there.

The main problem with Midway Market is the customers, IMO. And try not to be in there when the rain cuts loose. It definitely turns into a cattle food trough, ugh.

The food, usually, is ok especially when you want to chow down. A buffet like that is good for groups or families where appetites vary, or there's dietary restrictions. Midway Market at least offers a wide variety under one roof, there's probably something for everyone including the kids. I like it especially on a slow day when there's not as much pressure to get the rides in. And I think the service level improved with last year's installation of the Coca Cola Freestyle machine. At least you can get your own refills when you need 'em. (loving' that diet ginger ale)

I'm not sure what I'd consider the "worst" food at Cedar Point. I know there's a lot of complaints against CP's food service in terms of quality and pricing, but I never look to amusement park food to be the best in those categories anyway. I've been a lot of places, and let me assure you there's worse.

I agree with going to Midway Market. We usually eat before we get to the park in the AM, then don't need to eat until 2ish. It's usually not that busy at that time, and as far as the price goes, it's worth it. There's a lot of food choices, and I liked the new additions to the buffet last year. Also, you get to sit down in air conditioning, don't have to leave the park, and can refill your drink and take it to go.
I tend to slightly overeat there too hahaha (which hasn't been a problem because we end up waiting for GK or Raptor for awhile afterwards) But then I've found that I don't have to eat again in the park for the rest of the day, except maybe an ice cream cone or cookie later, so the price evens out by only eating once in the park all day.

That was our way when we only made one trip per year. Eat before the park, spend an hour in the afternoon at Midway Market in the air conditioning pigging out and then aside from a funnel cake we were good the rest of the day. I thought the food was fine. Not great, but nothing wrong with it either. Now that we have passes we take a cooler.

The worst, in my opinion, is Coasters. My family went there once a few years back, and will NEVER go back. The service was horrible, as was the food and drinks

CP food is expensive but the quality is ok, it is about the same as you would find at the various national fast food chains.

I've eaten at Coasters a number of times when they had the platinum pass discounts. I found the burgers to be pretty good, the fries are Boardwalk Fries and the drinks are like any other fountain soda. Service can be a bit chaotic sometimes but they try. If you want a burger and fries, Coasters is pretty decent in my opinion.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I think I disagree with the quality, at least in terms of taste. Take Midway Market. The pizza is incredibly doughy and the burgers are like you'd get in a school cafeteria. It's a double whammy usually, and that's what people don't like. You not only get subpar food, you're paying at least double for it.

How the park can even advertise they have a national food chain is misleading. It's like we have the company logo, and the menu somewhat resembles our other locations - but the prices and selection are not what you expect when you get inside and place your order.
Starbucks is expensive outside the park, I can only imagine what the location inside the park is going to charge for a cup of coffee.

The definition of Cedar Fair fare.

The sad part is they know how to make decent food. The picnic buffet (pulled pork, chicken nuggets and pasta and/or potato salad) they serve at the company outing my work sponsers is all excellent. It all tastes great, is fresh and doesnt leave me feeling sick 10 minutes later like almost all the rest of the food in the park.

If they can pass off a skater flat ride as a coaster, I guess it's totally ok to market that food as tasty and fairly priced.

I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. Coasters is really bad, as are all the clone restaurants in other CF parks.

The problem as I see it (besides the low quality hamburger they serve) is I have never once gotten hot food there. Since there are limited menu items, they crank out the food and let it sit under the warmer, and I've never had anything more than a lukewarm burger and warm fries there.

I like hot food, and regardless the quality of the food you are serving, there's no excuse for it not being hot.

Disney is equally bad in their quick service food locations. The one in future world (across from the turnpike cars) is some of the worst amusement park food I've ever had to eat.

I go to Midway Market. The burgers are terrible, the pasta is bland, pizza is OK sometimes other times bad. I go in only for the meatloaf and mashed potatoes which seem to be popular and replenished frequently. After 3 servings of that I head for pieces of cake and if I find a good one, have multiples. I only get coffee. After pigging,go take a nap in western trail under MF. Being a senior,it's less expensive for me.
For GateKeeper media day,the free donut time and breakfast and lunch at Midway Market were great. Also stopped in at Coasters for the freestuff,OK but not great. I ate TOO MUCH at media day!!!

So it sounds like I should skip Midway Market? I mean, if the buffet is even just average, I will pay the $6 or $7 to eat there. But if the quality is rather poor, I'll save my $7 and get a 3-inch Subway sandwich!

Nothing like a thread full of negativity to start your day.

If I remember correctly, Midway Market jumped in price to $17.99 last year with the addition of the Coke Freestyle machine. Because of that, we did not dine there at all in 2013. Years before, we went several times throughout the year, especially when the platinum discount took the price to under $11 per person.

$17.99? That's for a whole family, right?
