I love CP, don't get me wrong. I'm a complete coaster junkie but, there is always something that disappoints me about CP...
I think it's their lack of innovative coasters.
For being such a coaster park, it's missing all those quirky new coasters types that I am DYING to go on. Spinning coasters, 4th dimension coasters, euro-fighter's, closed circut LIM coasters. If CP was all about being a coaster park, let's get some new types in there!
Yes I love Millenium, Magnum, and Maverick. I even love Mean Streak (front seat ONLY!), Blue Streak (classsssic!), and Disaster Transport (for the lolz). I agree having the first hyper and giga coasters rule! But I'm always disappointed with Top Thrill, Mantis, and Raptor. And I'm a HUGE B&M fan (having grown up in Florida)! Top Thrill is fun, but the fun is over wayy to soon for me. I never want to stand in line for more than 20 minutes for it. Raptor is such a generic inverted for me... Batman the ride at Six Flags Great America is more thrilling for me, and it was the 1st! Mantis is just pure pain for me. Everytime I get "comfortable" the attendant comes along and pulls my seat up... and if you're a male... you KNOW that's no good! And why is Gemini, Mine Train, and Corkscrew even there still?! I'm glad we got past the early Arrow Dynamics corkscrew coasters!!! Good god do they hurt!
What I want to see is more innovative coasters. Sure, biggest, tallest, fastest is cool... but with the size constraint of the peninsula that's not gonna work forever. A rollerball coaster, spinning coaster, or euro-fighter coaster would be cheap, small, and fun! Not to mention children could easily enjoy these types of coasters too, since they aren't designed to set any records (besides innovation). I've always wondered why CP hasn't seemed interested in these, because in my mind at least, it makes a lot of sense!
My only other complaint is the lack of thrilling flat rides. I know, I know... it's a "coaster" park... but man do I love flat rides! If only they would put in some more extreme flat rides, and set them to a mode that is'nt super boring (like some of the mainstream amusement parks do). Wow Skyhawk! My only complaint about Skyhawk is that it's wayyy toooo short! You peak twice, before ending?! NO WAY! Max Air is the only flatride there that makes me feel like I'm getting a good duration time. That and Witches Wheel, because there's nothing like a good old fashioned Huss Enterprise!!! I used to love the Monster, but the past 3 times I've ridden it, my seat didnt spin ONCE! Horrible... I actually enjoy Demon Drop over Power Tower because it's a first gen Intamin Freefall, which leads to my second point... it always scares the CRAP out of me, then I laugh uncontrollably. Right on!
If only CP would get some modern euro flat rides from Moser, Mondial, and Huss! There are 3 car tracks for god's sake! 3! And now that there's Planet Snoopy (which is cute btw), why have the vintage kiddie rides near Gemini, and Max Air? And the flume near Sky Hawk, do people really ride that (ok sorry, Jurassic Park, and Splash Mountain have spoiled me)?!
My rants almost over... one last thing though. Please take out some of those ticket/token games in the arcade and put in more retro video games! I love playing Galaga, and Ms. Pacman there... but there could be sooooo many more gems to find, and cram in there! I miss arcades when they had as many shooters, side scrolling beat em ups, as they did simulation games. I like a good mix of both, not a lot of new simulator/shooters.
Oh and retractable seat belts?! How am I suppose to get max airtime on Blue Streak and Magnum now?! Half the fun was keeping it ultra loose!
If you want those coasters and things, go to a different park. Cedar Point will add them if and when they are ready!

An inverted coaster is like a ski lift gone haywire!!
Well, there is a reason so few 4-d's have been built. And that reason is X, and its completely unreliable design. It will be interesting to see how Intamin's design works, but that's a big reason why one hasn't been installed yet.
What's wrong with multiple kiddie areas and multiple family rides (like the cars)? Should they just be shoved off to a corner of the park and forgotten about because they take up space for the 5000 foot mega looper?
While it would be nice to see a few more vintage games in the arcade, you can't argue with CP's line-up. I don't know if I have ever seen an arcade with as much WORKING vintage games as are in the main arcade. And its very hard to add more because it is very hard to find working models of the vintage games.

I wish cedar point would get a Giant top spin. Not like an indoor boxed in one like Tomb Raider, now known as the Crypt, but a nice looking outdoor one with a good thrill program. Most other parks have regular top spins, but they are too small for CP, it needs a giant one, IMO. And, it adds to the flat ride collection without adding another coaster and tearing out classic rides to be replaced.

Well shoot, if only Cedar Point is looking out for what YOU are dying to ride. I'm not exactly dying to ride a spinning coaster or a eurofighter, and I know I'm not the only one.

I just think that if it's such a "coaster" park, why not go with some new compact types? They'd be cheaper too! Yes I am dying to ride them, but I really think a lot of people would enjoy something different, thats all.

Yeah, I've heard that X is always down, which is a shame. I love the design because its a coaster that gives you the same g-forces and feeling as the Zipper (flatride)! And they certainly don't have many of those around anymore.

It just seems redundant to have 3 car rides. Planet Snoopy was a much needed kids area, but I've seen a lot of kids bored on the vintage rides! That makes me sad, give the kids something a little more modern and thrilling!

True, but theres room to cram a lot more in! And, there are companies who refurbish cabinets and roms!
Cedar Point has a great variety of coasters, family rides, games, shows, water rides, and other attractions. I personally would never complain about the variety of rides at the park. My only complaint is the food prices. For those of you that want brand new coasters, I'm quite sure there will be some in the next few years.

CP food is still cheaper than Disney and Universal! Except the Subway charges double... grrr.

I think the next coaster may be compact. Due to Cedar Point running out of room! (add a wink)

I wasn't aware that Magnum had retractable seat belts.

Does Magnum have any seat belts? I thought it did.

There is no park that would meet the expectations you set. Not one, anywhere.
Air time is not a function of the type of seat belt. I routinely pull the belt as tight as possible on Magnum, and get just as much airtime as anyone else.

^ Well maybe not here in America, but I'm sure somewhere wants a "high thrill park". I feel silly now because I was just venting about the general things. If I really had my way with an amusement park, it'd be very very crazy. ^_^
^I agree with Jeff. Not one park would. America or overseas, no amusement park would get rides like you suggested.

bachrodi,
Not trying to rain on your parade, but if you "had your way with an amusement park", it would probably fail...miserably.
