Countdown Lights

The tree by the launch area is was operational yesterday. We noticed on our ride that the ride launched before we even hit the green light...lol.

Just so you know. . . I was on Power Tower today, and I was facing Top Thrill Dragster. . . and FINALLY, all of the Christmas tree lights are installed on the tower. (There were the two on there for a week or so. . .one was half installed, the other looked fully installed. . .) But now, it appears at least that they are all up. Maybe soon they will be wired and used! It looks like it will be cool.

We were thinking how neat it would be if they were like "spotlights," and if it was foggy at night, then there would be giant horizontal towers of colored lights coming off of the 420-ft tower. That would be swell!

What are you talking about LIVE ENTERTAINMENT? I was there last night too, and spent A LOT of time staring at TTD! I kept thinking it'd be awesome once they get all the lights on the catwalks because there was only one installed and another sitting on the same catwalk. Maybe I'm just blind, but I didn't see all the lights installed.

Only one is "installed." They have two on site, no others have even been on the tower or even near it to date.

even without the countdown lights, it is still a great ride. heh, it's not like Cedar point promised countdown lights to make the ride great. the only people that will be upset if they say no to countdown lights are gonna be the hardcore enthusiasses, not the common folk. most of them probably never heard of the countdown lights...

Yeah my mistake. It was getting dark out, and the 'holes' where the lights will go looked dark, and I didn't realize they were just holes and not the actual lights. I saw that the next morning. Sorry! ;)

Haha. Sorry LIVE, I didn't mean to be all "WHAT??!! You are really wrong!!"... and all that kind of stuff. Ok rogue, it will be even more awesome when they get them all installed! They're gonna be wicked at night, especially since you'll be able to see them from off the point!

I can't wait either, but till the meantime, if you want to know when your launching...sit in the front and coun to 3 after the fins drop...lol

I sat in the middle opening day and was afraid to turn my head and look around sine we had no clue when we were laucnhing...lol

Well . . . even without the tree lights on the tower, you can easily see it from off point. . .it's the really tall yellow thing. ;) For real, it's crazy brightly lit up.

And the Christmas tree near the track tells you when you are launching. . .you can see it from the train.

I noticed on the Station Web Cam that it now appears that 3 sets (6 Lights) of Countdown lights are now on the Tower.

Maybe this unfortunate down time can be a good thing like those lights finally being installed and operational?

From the PT cam it almost looks like there are 10...
