Could CP Support a Concert Venue?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

CP doesn't need a concert venue like timberwolf. for once, unlike all the CF clone parks having all the same attractions, (Dinos, windseekers, fast lane, peanuts, similar haunted houses, restaurants etc,) CP can still be different. we have pointfest anyway and it would be chaos with everyone leaving at the end of the day. (park and concert event) :)

I think the even more important part would be where do you park everybody? If you had a full concert later in the summer when they are already packed to capacity and have the employees park off-site, where would you put the people coming to the concert? The peninsula doesn't have the room to hold that many cars on a full capacity day AND trying to hold a concert.

I think what Cedar Point does with PointFest is enough. it doesn't need to have concerts to bring people in. There are plenty of areas around Sandusky that can support concerts. If anything, something I thought would always be an added plus, would be back by Sandcastle use the Breakwater Cafe and at night open it up with a local band to play and have a bar. That way for the adults that are there it helps keep them on property at night instead of going off to look for entertainment, something like what Kalahari does. I know for this to happen a lot would need to be done but I always thought something like that would be a plus.

I agree that if they booked small groups somewhere low key near the water back there in an intimate venue would be a great idea. No major tech needed, simple lighting, small rock bands, acoustic stuff, don't even need big names, just something you can walk out of your hotel room, go down to the bar to sit on a deck with a drink and some live music would be great.

Fridays on the Beach had live music for one summer. I think it was every Tuesday night at sundown on the patio.

Something like that, built into an outdoor or open air bar/restaurant near the beach, would be fantastic.
