Jeff just because I don't run websites doesn't mean I am ignorant of the topic. B&M wouldn't have built it. Cause they are too comfortable in their same old designs.
Dude, I don't care, I think your opinion is narrow-minded and your own. The public at large begs to differ. You said people are camping out, but why is it that even Mantis gives more rides than Dragster? Raptor buries Millennium Force in capacity too. The lines for every B&M in the country are not a figment of my imagination. People love those rides.
And who cares if B&M would have built it or not? You know why Intamin sells rides? Because they'll do it for less money, not because they're pushing the technology.
Here's something to think about... Ride manufacturers build what parks pay them for. The "same old designs" from B&M and Intamin are actually all from Werner Stengel, the same guy.

Just wanted to make sure, never can tell. :P
I agree it's a bit sucktacular, but then again, that was design intent. The name "Broken Record" was intended to have a double meaning. ;)
People camp out in front of TTD because it opens late and is still new. They're also worried that if they don't get on it first thing, it will break down. People camped out for Raptor when it first opened too. Let the novelty of it wear off.
No, the park had half of the capacity. "Camping out" has nothing to do with anything. A ride can only physically move so many people per hour, regardless of how many people inhabit the earth. So until Raptor starts sending empty seats on a typical day (i.e., not like last Friday), people camping out has nothing to do with how popular or "thrilling" a ride is.

Werner Stengel: Wow I had no idea he designed both companies rides. Thanks for the fresh update Jeff.
My point was that if Raptor is closed you won't see people waiting in line for a ride that isn't operating.
I have respect for Stengel and know how much he has done for the industry.

A major factor why B&M was not chosen for this coaster project is simply because their restraint design is for park guests 54" and taller only.
And you know this from sitting in on cap ex planning meetings, right?

I'm not the one sitting here saying restraint types dictated the decision to build the ride.

One out of two B&M coasters at Cedar Point doesn't hurt my balls. None out of what 4(well four since I can't get on Jr. Gemini) now 5 adult sized Intamin coasters don't crush my manland. That makes me smile.
That double negative threw me for a loop, but I think you are saying that Intamin coasters don't hurt your manhood. I have had the opposite experience, as I swore off Wicked Twister for good this year. The vibrating of the train coupled with harnesses that come down no matter how hard you fight the G's combined for a truly painful experience. I'm ok on MF, but Dragster sometimes does a number downstairs due to the shaking of the train.
I've never had a problem with any B&M coaster, especially Mantis once I started actually standing up.
I just had to defend my beloved B&Ms!

The straight vertical bar on Millennium Force's restraint touches your giggleberries before it touches your lap. One aggressive ride operator can end your manhood.

I'm glad that Intamin and not B&M is building Maverick, and it has nothing to do with quality of the rides. That whole argument about Mantis as a nad-smasher doesn't hold water. It's a standup coaster, which is an inherently unnatural position for a human being to navigate a high-speed, inverting course.
If B&M had built Maverick, it would probably have been a four-across ride, as has been said previously. B&M mostly builds four-across coasters. But Maverick is the kind of coaster that screams for a two-across design. All those tight turns and sidewinding through the canyons simply wouldn't be as much fun with a wide profile, especially from an interior seat.

Yeah, but he failed to mention the Twig that goes with the giggleberries!
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
Twig? That sounds so tiny. I... I can't retort without gettin kicked off this site. ;)

Wow, just wow. I can't think of an appropriate way to come back with anything.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Jeff got that saying from American Pie 2. When the guy glued himself to himself. And the other dude asked, "Hey man, how's the twig & giggleberries?"
