Why bother to contract two different companies to do one ride when Intamin can do all of it by themselves?
They are both really similar in smoothness, so it's not like they are sacrificing anything to go with Intamin over B&M.

This ride could have been done by S&S, but it isn't. It could have been done by a number of coaster companies, but Intamin is who Cedar Fair wants to thrill their guests. Personally, I am fine with that. One out of two B&M coasters at Cedar Point doesn't hurt my balls. None out of what 4(well four since I can't get on Jr. Gemini) now 5 adult sized Intamin coasters don't crush my manland. That makes me smile. I guess what I am saying is yeah sure, other companies could build this ride, but Intamin is probably the best for this design for it's trains and willingness to push the envelope, step on it, pee on it, light that sob onfire, grab it really tight and stick it right up your rootypoo...wait....yeah Intamin is known for thinking outside of the box and like to press the issue of out of control feeling while being completely safe. I am glad Intamin is making this coaster, I like their rides. They are my favorite. Pushing the limits and bucking the trend.

B&M could have done the same type of ride. And I think it would have been more reliable than an intamin.
You're making a ridiculous statement. The ride isn't even built and you're commenting on its reliability.
B&M hasn't done anything that isn't one of a handful of coaster types with essentially the same trains on each. The dive coaster is the only variation they've done. They don't seem like they're willing to try something that isn't that same basic design.

I think some people are just stretching for arguments now.
The announcement has come and gone. Got to expend that energy SOMEHOW!
And B&M builds very conventional rides. It's easy to get reliability when building something like that. Look at Magnum or Gemini, I bet they are just as reliable as a B&M.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
One point that needs to be made. Dragster doesn't run everyday, but you always see people in line for it. Although B&M's arent down very often, when they are people aren't camping out by the line entrance. Why? Intamin rides are a more thrilling experience.

The only problem with that is in most cases Intamin is probably the newest coaster in the park. (Especially if you are talking strictly about CP)
I'm not saying Intamin rides aren't more thrilling, at least to some, but I don't recall seeing many people camping out for Wicked Twister when it is down.
Neat how you restated what I had to say in the quote one reply later. B&M rides just don't offer the fun that an Intamin ride does, and you know it. So would we rather have a B&M (which would be only a slight variant of the two that are at the park) or a fresh new ride concept that Intamin is delivering?
Oh yeah, he knows it. :rolls eyes:
People aren't camping out in front of B&M rides because they actually run reliably and have higher capacity. The only Intamin rides I've been on in the modern era (1999 and later) that still hold any interest for me are Millennium Force and Wicked Twister. I could list B&M rides all day that I still cherish (Apollo's Chariot, Raptor, Talon, Montu, Dueling Dragons, Medusa, Great Bear, Batman, Kumba, Kraken, etc.).

Could B&M have built this coaster?
the real question that matters is....DID B&M build this coaster?
the answer is NO they didn't, so who cares, and by the way....other than TTD and other rockets, who's to say Intamin isn't reliable?

Our tounges our sharp quick this is getting out of hand so tonight were going out in armor dressed to kill
Of course B&M could have built it. And it would have looked like this:

Jeff's post is suggesting I have not ridden these rides.
Yes they are fun, but they are all similar. Same old same old B&M features.
I really like riding Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, and I like a ride on Mantis or Raptor. They are all fun, but seriously who sits infront of mantis in the morning waiting for it to open. I do watch every year a line that forms immediately at Dragster. B&M rides are becoming too indifferent.
Jeff just because I don't run websites doesn't mean I am ignorant of the topic. B&M wouldn't have built it. Cause they are too comfortable in their same old designs.
Jeff I think he (adam loves the roller coast) has you on this one. It is true I always see a line infront of dragster, whether the ride is gonna run that day or not.
I myself would rather ride other rides if certain rides are not open. It is notable that certain rides that don't open everyday still draw crowds. Hmm
Did Jeff ever say they could have built it? No And even said the same thing as you how B&M alwasy sticks to the same basic design.
Intamins are fun, and so are B&Ms. I think people are more drawn to TTD's launch appeal and thats why people are willing to wait hours on end and camp outside the enterance. Does that make it funner? Not so much. The launch on TTD is incredible, I'll admit it. But to the average person is a 17 second roller coaster ride with speeds up to 120mph BETTER then a 2 and a half minute long roller coaster ride with speeds of up to say 70mph but with more inversion and elements? That's a personal choice.
And quick answer: Yes B&M COULD have built it, but they wouldn't considering they don't do launches.
