Because you're trying to turn "rumors" into facts.

That and you can't spell or capitalize. How do you ever expect anyone to take you seriously (let alone expect your posts to not get deleted)?

Brett1019...being a member here for nearly 3 years, I think I know what a message board is and how it works around here. This is a closely moderated forum, and your posts will start to disappear if you keep flooding threads. I've also been around long enough to know that people that start out like you have aren't members for very long.

You come here and spout rumors as fact and you don't expect people to challenge you about them? That's hardly being "hated" or "picked on" by everyone...

Hey I am new to GTTP but Ive been posting on TPOL. But I had an Idea to keep launching the train up the hill. Even if you used something like a tire launch you could launch it to a speed then keep it going the same speed halfway up the hill that way your not launching at 150MPH and also dodonpa or however you say it goes 107MPHso I think we'd need much more then 110MPH to go over a 400ft. hill.

Why? Someone did the math and indicated you would need 110, and that's if it had to climb the full 400 feet. Even Xcelerator goes vertical 20 feet or more off of the ground.

Hmmm...that would be "cool" to elevate the station very high. Higher than Magnum or Disaster Transport, or whoever has the highest station as of now.

Have you seen the track layout for Dodonpa? It does launch at 107 mph, but instead of going to an immediate vertical tower like Hypersonic, it takes a wide banked turn, then goes up the tower (it of course loses speed by then). Also, a TA2K and and Intamin rocket coaster are two different rides... you can't really go by stats from one for the other.

It also seems to me that a ride like Hypersonic (or Dodonpa) would lose speed faster than an Intamin hydraulic coaster because of wheel style. I'm probably wrong, but it seems as though those tires (being softer) would add to the friction.

Just a hunch.

And if Xcelerator doesn't get vertical until about 20 feet off the ground, think about how long it'd have to take for a 400 foot tophat (and 110 MPH) launch. To maintain low-ish g-forces, it'd take a turn of a very, very large radius, and a launch track long enough to allow the coaster to reach that speed without massive acceleration g's. (Not to mention stopping the ride, should a rollback occur.)

Beware of the articulate incompetant

Maybe the station will be like 75ft off the ground with the rotating restaurant taking you to the top?

Ok, I was going to post this earlier to get some opinions, but the site wasn't working for me. I was thinking today about the tophat if this is an Intiman RC. What if the tophat didn't make an 180 degree change in direction, and instead a 90 degree change? In my mind, I see a better layout if the tophat was launched into from the Chaos and Trioka area and then turn 90 degrees on the incline or on the decline, and then it would head straight onto Millennium Island. This thought was going through my mind a lot today for some odd reason, and then I just happened to read the idea on Screamscape, it's kinda freaky.

I've thought about that too, but I'm not sure if they could have a pullout before it would have to go under MF's supports on the island. It would be different...

I have thought about it too, and CP bound, I think it would be cool to have an overbanked turn (or some part of the ride) going up and over and around parts of MF on the island.

I know I'm sounding a bit stupid here, but what's a top hat? I've seen a lot of speculation about top hats and I'm not completely sure what they are.

A top hat is the "signature" element on Intamin's new rocket coaster design. On Xcelerator, it come just after the launch. Here is a pic - it is the element that goes straight up while twisting 90 degrees, peaks, then drops straight down while twisting back 90 degrees: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1574.htm?Picture=6

Technically, this is a top hat. http://www.rcdb.com/full/six-flags-great-adventure/batman-and-robin-the-chiller2.jpg

The thing on Xcel. is a reverse top hat, or a NITH. (non inverting top hat)

What I am wondering is if there would be enough footers in Area 51 to build a top hat. From this picture, it looks like they would need about five for each tower.

Let your mind go...and your body will follow...

Im pretty sure the coaster will be built by Intamin. Probably 300-350 ft. They dont have enough room for a 400 ft. coaster. Plus with all of the wind factors and being right near a lake, it is almost impossible. It will probably be a launch type coaster. It will probably break some records also. We should know by September, hopefully!
**Tries to refrain from laughing** Not enough room!? Ahahahahahaha...
