Contacts?

This question goes out to all my fellow Acuvue 2 users out there. Do you guys think our contacts will hold up on TTD? I mean they're ok on MF, but now were going to a whole new level.

Personally I'm not sure, becasue were going 0-120 in 4 seconds, a part of me thinks that may be to much and they might fly out.

Well post your thoughts, I guess we will never really know until opening day when someone rides it.

I've never had any problems. Never lost a contact or even had problems with them drying up.

Well... (I dont have them so forgive me if Im a little off), take them off before you get on and put them (in a case) in your pocket.

The only thing worse than people who make grammar mistakes are the people who have to point it out every ****ing time.

Why is that, Anon?

They're definitely not going to fly out. I wouldn't think they would slide either. The only thing that I might worry about is drying out. But I don't see that happening. If you remained worried, just take a small bottle of solution, and if they do dry out, just use it after the ride.
I was thinking maybe they would start digging into your eyes.

I don't have contacts, I have glasses. So I can't help any of you with contacts. I'm still not sure if I should wear my glasses because they were fine on MF. They might fall off going straight down!

Note to self: Never try to explain things to the GP!

Put them in the bins! Or get laser eye surgery!

This question has come up with Millennium Force. Its okay to wear them.

WARNING: don't wear glasses, they could break!
Or they will fly off your head!
I think you will be cool with contacts, if you need to keep your eyes close, thats all the advice i can give you.

Top Thrill Dragster, you want us to keep taking them out and putting them back in? I dont think so!

Millenium Force Maniac, thats what i did last summer, took a small little bottom of "Refresh Tears" and if they were getting a little dry (which they did at least once a day) i just put a couple of drops in. I was just worried that they might fly out of my eyes. But i always took my glasses and left them in the car, just in case.

Superfast, of COURSE you will be cool with contacts! That is the basic premise of the whole contact business. :)

Joey: Hey-hey, I'm not judging.

You can't just take contacts in and out like that. Your hands must be clean and I usually need a mirror to put them in. Would be very annoying to keep making trips to the restrooms to put in or take out contacts.

You would also have to cary around your case filled with cleaning solution.

Sorry, I don't wear contacts.

I'd be surprised if they let you wear anything on your head, i.e. hats, glasses.

120 MPH is very fast. Most people have never gone that fast, and to do it in the open is that much more sensational.

I wonder how the mayflies taste at 120 MPH?

I have a solution for contact wearers. First of all, you need small cameras that can be attached to an ordinary pair of glasses. Then, surgically attach the camera video output signal to the optic nerve of each eye. Now, you can close your eyes and your brain will still receive video data from the cam-glasses. Your brain won't know the difference and your contacts will stay moist and intact. Just don't open your eyes while your wearing the glasses because the signals will cause interference and possibly death..
Actually, I think your contacts will be fine.

I never wear my contacts on rollercoasters anymore since one of them dried up and fell out on Mean Streak.
