I was there today. It wasn't that big of a deal and I had a damn good time. Didn't ride Dragster, because it was a 2.5 hour wait, but the longest I waited for anything else was 15 minutes for Millennium Force, with a FastLane pass. It was very nearly a perfect day. I rode Magnum with only three other people.

I have a question. For those throwing a tantrum over this, what would be your alternative??? Shooting a commercial in the dark? Shooting it last week while there were cranes on site and trains that were short 4 seats? If they did that, you still woudln't have been happy because of the super-low capacity.

I personally drove 5 hours to go to the park Wed. when the ride did not open till 3. BIG FLIPPING DEAL! My friends and I rode EVERY coaster in the park but Jr. Gemini including TTD. Anyone who says they didn't get to ride the ride must have been sleeping in a maintnence shed all day or something.

As for the 'grow up' argument, someone with a spouse, kids, a home, pets etc should not need to be told to grow up, but unfortunately maybe they do. I took friends to the park who had never been there and were PUMPED to ride ttd. We are selfish, ghetto broke college students who wanted to ride TTD. Two of my friends were there for the first time and probably won't go back for years. They were sooo ready to ride ttd they talked about it the whole way to the park. They had no problem with the commercial being shot. They didn't complain. They took a MATURE aproach and said "Hey guys, let's take this opportunity to ride the OTHER coasters now, and we can catch Dragster before we go. And to think there are a group of self proclaimed "responsible adults" bellyaching to no end about a ride being closed a couple hours when there was NO reasonable alternative. You should all be ashamed... VERY VERY ashamed

Untill someone has a logical, workable alternative to shooting the commercial this week, the complaining should stop.

ONE freeway stamp a day... ONE

If I remember correctly, Cedar Point was the #1 park in the world last year (and the year before etc etc). BEFORE they opened TTD.

Sounds to me like one could still have an awesome day there whether or not a particular ride is open. Unless it really is a disaster to have to ride MF instead of TTD....after all, MF really is such an "average" ride ;)

I'm sure those folk who drove 3 (or 4 or 5) hours to the park last year before TTD was built must have thought their day really sucked.

For those 16 extreme seconds, it was worth the wait....

I was there yesterday, it opened about 2pm.

By that time, I'd already been able to ride all the other "biggies" that I like sevearl times- walk ons on Magnum, Wicked Twister, and Raptor. We got in line for TTD probably somewhere a little after 2..... waited about 2.5 hours. The ride was incredible, but I hope that CP makes some improvements to the queue.

There was no music in many parts of the line. Only one place along the way (more towards the beginning of the line) with drink & snack machines- i wasn't really terribly thirsty at that point, but I would've killed for a drink about an hour later- I thought there'd be another opportunity like in the MF queue. Also that wall really takes away so much- you can't watch the takeoff, and then to the other side you have a view of the Iron Dragon (which made me laugh after TTD went wizzing by) and a bunch of gravel.

Major props to the CP staff who did roam around the lines telling people to not sit on the bars and asking people not to smoke.

However- one BIG thing to note for anyone who's planning on going on this- is that you cannot take any purses or bags of any kind. If this was noted anywhere, I must admit that I missed it (wasn't really looking for it- more excited for the ride!)- but the CP staff member sitting at the entrance didn't tell people either. A girl had a purse, and after waiting in line for 2.5 hours, got up, in the train, and they made her leave. She was very ticked, as I probably would have been. IMO, they do need better warning of this. Yes, people should have the common sense to think of it, but most people really aren't thinking about common sense when they're getting in line.

Very happy that I had the chance to ride this though!

I had a camera with me when I was in line, and took a few pictures, but after the guy made me put it in a locker, he let me back in line. It might've helped that I had a friend with me in line. ;)

Oh, and if these are light crowds I dont want to be near the park later this summer.

3+ hour wait for Dragster
1+ hour for MF
1/2 hour for Magnum
About 1/2 for Mantis (which looks great BTW)

Are you nuts? I was there on the 15th. Magmum was walkon all day. I rode it well over a dozen times. MF I never saw over 30 minnutes.

Cedar Point can not and will not be responsible for any thing lost or dammaged.

I'm very sure I waited that long for the rides.

Raptor was a walkon, and so was Wicked Twister.

Well I came up from North Carolina and decided to pay the extra money to stay at Hotel Breakers just so we could get in early and be right at the entrance to get on TTD first thing in the morning. We were there on Wednesday and Thursday. I was upset because I was so looking forward to riding it first thing. We ended up getting in line around 12:30 on Wednesday and it broke down, we got out of line at 2:00. We finally got to ride it around 9:15. We still had a good time. I agree that they should have been able to do it at a different time or at least let the general public be part of the filming and ride the ride.
My sister told me she seen the commercial on tv today. oooo yeah she said it was cool, has any one else seen it. i still haven't.

She "seen the commercial." Nice. I'm sure your parents and teachers are proud.
