Cedar Point Lady - the fact that it was down due to weather is one thing, I don't have a problem with that. The fact is they are shooting commercials and photos that as I said before and ricky williams said, could and should of been done last week when the park wasn't open.

I'M OUT OF ESTROGEN AND I HAVE A GUN
It's not an easy feat for us to find the right time and circumstances for a day like this. My husband has to work a schedule out between 7 other people for the day off and we have to schedule an overnight babysitter for our daughter, not to mention worry about weather and other circumstances that might arise.
It's not like we are locals and can pop in whenever we want. When you have a job, family, house and all the other things that come with life, you'll understand where I'm coming from.

Okay, so I understand where you're coming from. Still, my wife and I went today, didn't ride Dragster, and still had plenty of fun. I'm guessing that you and your husband will similarly manage to find some way to have a good time.
Of course, you could just decide that all your planning will be wasted if you don't get to ride Dragster. And if you do, it will be.
colin: my wife doesn't ride many of the biggies. Millennium was >1hr when we walked by. Dragster was 3. Raptor was 45 minutes. Most everything else we looked at was a 15 minute wait or less.
Highlights of the day: getting walked off of Mean Streak (the last train to make it around the course, about 2PM. Don't know if it ever started up again or not). Seeing Magnum Dan working as the platform host on, well, Magnum.
edit: heh, didn't even notice you arent olympic :p

Why is it nobody will ever admit to CP ever making a mistake. Closing the ride for this reason is unacceptable. Why can't they do commercial shoots between 7:00-10:00am?
If the ride was closed because of weather or equipment failure, I still would be disappointed but not upset with the park, because the problems would be outside of their control.
If they know they are going to do "stupid" things like this they should post it on the website or have it on a information hotline phone number.
I have plans to goto to CP on Thursday. Yes I agree I would still have a great time if the ride is closed, but if I would have in advance that this sort of thing was going on, I would have changed my schedule to go on a different day.

This is the slowest week of the year. They're running TV spots with the lame animation. Tell me, what's your better idea?
Like I said in my post, do the photo shoots in the early morning. If it takes a few more days so be it. Some of us do not have the luxury of going to the park anytime we want for quick spin on a few coasters.

If they had spent the entire last week filming commercials instead of working on all of the bugs left in the ride who's to say you would have gotten to ride this week anyway? :oP------------------

I agree James. Getting 5 trains running with all 16 seats per train was more important then shooting commercials last week.
