Thanks for the reply....I have never been there and just wondered if it was worth the time. Basically committing 1-1/2 days to COSI & Toledo Zoo and a comment like yours Rob, definitely reinforces the aspect of a positive experience for the rugrats....
And thanks to all for the positive, rather than negative response to a somewhat off topic question. Although related in my trip this year (I only get to make one big one)....Three Days and Nights at CP will make up in quality for lack of quantity...!!
This is an Off the Wall Idea but CEDAR POINT May not be marketing anything yet because they might have a Surprise up their sleave that they don't want to announce but it will be something that will just go bang and then take the Glory from SFWOA. Cedar Point Will still be giving the Best Quality for your money while SFWOA let's People that are 16 years old operate heavy Wquipment that they shouldn't and giving ***** Service..........

That's A Very Interesting Idea, Dskoug...But What Did You Have In Mind When You Say "Surprise?" Something NEW For 2001...As *Hopeful* As That Might Sound...I Am Not Holding My Breath, As All Of The 2001 Plans Have Been Announced/ Revealed...As Far As I Know...Even The Press Release That Came Out A Few Days Ago Talked About The 2001 Capital Improvements, And It Was The Basic Info (Johnny Rockets, Lighthouse Point)...So I Am Not Expecting A "Suprise"...But It's A Great "Off The Wall Idea"
mikey :)
P.S. If The "Off The Wall" Idea Was True, And I Was The PR Staff At Cedar Point, I Would Reveal The Information, One Day Before SFWOA Opened :)
What are the odds that they are hoping Millennium Force will be more popular in it's second season like Magnum was?
How Much More Popular Was Magnum In It Second Season?
Mikye :)
Lets just say with no new ride in 90, the line didn't go down as much and if anything grew!

LMAO...Very Funny, MR. Spartan...
Also, If Anyone is interested, in next Sunday's (May 6..YEA!)Detroit Free Press/News..The TRAVEL Section Will Be Devoted To Amusement Parks/ Roller Coasters....You Might Be Able To Access It At
www.detnews.com, Or if you would REALLY Like A Copy, Send Me You address to my e-mail..Not exactly sure how many parks/ coasters will be covered...but usually they cover CP, PKI, and SFO Pretty Extensively, since they are close to Detroit...
mikey :)
Cool, thanks for the heads up on that Mikey.
I too, have seen those SFWoA ads, and they were great. There's no way I can get down there this year, but if I had a car, and I had the whole summer, I would definitly consider it. Makes the park look real good, especially those shots of Superman.
C'mon CP, let's see some ads!
(I still chuckle when ever I think of that kid on the sled in the Mantis ads...:))

Crayons!
Actually, in '90 they weren't they advertising Disaster Transport? I know they rethemed it that year, but wasn't that supposed to be the "big" thing to try to draw crowds?
CP_bound..Actually it was '90 that DISpatch mASTER TRANSPORT was unveiled with all the new themeing..However Magnum still grew in popularity as a result of its 89 record breaking status. As I recall the line were still longer than ever.

Well I'm assuming today must of been the Key day to bring out the CP advertising big guns for the season..I've been driving around for work all day and hearing the 2001 "Hold On" Cedar Point ad campaign plastered all over the Radio today..I'm assuming We'll start seeing the TV spots to go with it. I like the "Hold On" campaign..If ya think about it they indirectly snuck a little saftey PSA in the slogan "Hold On"..:)
Keep your ears and eyes open fellow CP buds...

Well since no one has mentioned this yet, I'll be the first to say that I saw a TV ad for CP on 13ABC this afternoon. Actually just like 2 minutes ago. It's a pretty cool commercial, and has some good footage of the coasters and Power Tower.
Finally! :o)

Spartan, I thought about posting DISpatch mASTER, but I felt lazy. :)
I saw one in Columbus this morning, well some of it, all I saw was, "Cedar Point, opens may 6!"
-------------
"Does anyone know what type of dog spot is?
A Cedar Pointer!"
I just saw the first one here in Indaina now! Good thing I had Star Trek on while surfing the net! It showed close-ups/on-ride photos of all the big coasters except Raptor. It was in the background of one of the shots. It focused a lot more on what else the park has to other besides the coasters.
There was a new catchy theme song too! Somewhat similar to the Get to the Point song.
For those who haven't seen the commercial or who don't live in target markets, it is available on my web site:

The commercial wars have started in the Pittsburgh area. I saw a SFWOA commercial last week and saw a Cedar Point commercial. God, I can't wait to get to CP.
