Coasters Stuck

I was just wandering if anybody has had the experience of walking down one of the hills on any coasters. I have seen it happen a few time but never to me. Do they get any freebees for the inconvience?

I got stuck on Mean Streak two years ago. The train didn't catch on the lift hill chain and it shook us for a minute and then just turned off. Half the the train was on the incline of the lift hill, we were in the front train. After about 15-20 minutes, they finally got us out and walked us down. We had to sign a paper with our name and address on it, and no, we didn't get any "freebees" (not that we expected to).

Steel Phantom, don't remember the year, but do remember it was up high. I don't remember much about, other than walking down and seeing other people around me scared.

For freebees it depends what ride and how long your stuck
and then most of the time they give you a front of the line pass.

Coasters don't get stuck, they just stop moving.

The lift chain broke while I was ascending the lift on Superman at Six Flags of America. What a mess. Got to walk down from about two-thirds up the 200' hill.

I have gotton stuck before..but ive never actually had to walk down a hill to get down no.

Ive been evaced off of Space Mountain in Florida before. That was a whole lot of fun, especially since we got stopped about 6 feet off the ground. However, it was cool to walk through the structure, and oh yeah we got 4 use anywhere anytime Fastpasses a piece too :).

Here is one of Mean Streak on Opening Day last year...

I would have been on that train if I didn't let the a couple go in front of me haha.

I got stuck 2 years ago on the sky ride. I know it does not seem amazing, but what happened after it stopped was bad. It just so happened we got stuck at the highest point (of course) the wind started to kick up and a storm rolled in. We were rocking back and forth getting soaked. We were up there for a good 45 minutes before we started moving again. Me at the time being a smoker just said hell with it and lit one up while i was in there. Nobody minded. After we finally got off the other end they gave us 2 passes each to get in the handicap entrance to anything but dragster.

Let me correct myself. I was also stuck on mean streak. We were in the front car and only about 1/4 the way up the hill the power failed. They had us wait till they got it started again. You think the whole ride is bad. Try sitting on the chain when it first starts. It is like riding a jackhammer.

Yea I have been on a few rides that have, as Jeff says, stopped moving including the the one I have worked at Revenge of the Mummy in Florida. I have to admit we have a lot of stupid downtimes there for the tiniest of things. The only ride at CP that I have been evacuated off of is Wicked Twister. I believe that was because of an APD (automatic power disconnect)

Last season, I got on Magnum and it "stopped moving" a few feet from the crest of the hill. We had to walk down and we had to sign papers also like airee85. We got to ride again when it was fixed....when we got to the last few stairs on the lift hill...

An inverted coaster is like a ski lift gone haywire!!

I have to admit it'd be cool to get pulled off of Revenge of The Mummy, provided they turn the lights on and I could look around.

I've been stuck on Mean Streak for about 20-30 minutes. We were about 10 feet from the top. I was surprised that we didn't have a walkdown.

I guess the extent of myse;f getting "Stuck" on a coaster, would be: The last day of the 2008 season for Canada's Wonderland, There was a major vomit attack on the train before us, we were stacked on the safetys for about a good 15 - 25 minutes. It was very interesting to see how slow the crew was moving to clean up the vomit.

^...lol wow nice

CP rides: I got stuck on magnum's hill last summer (camera problem), mine ride's a few summers back (mechanical), mean streak in 2001 (mechanical), and DT in the station beacuse some guy in front of me refused to put his leg in the car the right way...

Not at CP: On X-flight track before the hill, Beast at kings island on the hill, and adventure express in the tunnel.

My brother and I got stuck on Batman Knight Flight at Six Flags Ohio a few years ago we were stuck right out side the station to get off and were stuck there for over 45 minutes we got a free ticket to come back to the park with a few other people.

Where did the Revenge of the Mummy "stop moving" at? I LOVE that one.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

Well actually it stops in multiple places to "continue the story" as we call it. But its when the car doesn't move after the show scenes have finished playing, like on the turntable and in the fake unload area. Most of the downtimes i have seen there have been caused by the cpu in the controls area it "says that there is something wrong" so it stops everything and we get to evac. YAY!!!!

I was trapped in a B&M flyer, on the brake run (in flying position) for like, a half hour/45 minutes once. It was at a Coasterbuzz event at SFGrAm, Superman's opening year.

It's not horribly uncomfortable, for the first 10 minutes. :)
