I call bull****. No way no one here has heard of you if you have ridden MF 1000 times and Dragster 435 times. People in the coaster clubs would know about it if you did, and no one I know of has heard of it or you. There's only 1 person I know of that has near 1000 laps on MF, and that is Tony, and he's at 922. Additionally, the crews of MF and Dragster would recognize and know you if you had as many rides as you claim, but I'm quite sure they don't, as I know people... *** Edited 6/5/2005 11:42:19 AM UTC by thebrian***
Someone did get special 1000th ride photos on Millennium Force this past weekend. His family came down and got a few congratuations photos for him.
Congrats on 1000th mf laps, i use to be able to ride mf now i am too fat, well at 179lbs and having a 36inch waist i am to fat, well anyways congrats
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
Too fat!? I'm 212lbs and have a 38 inch waist and I rode it with an 1 1/2" to spare on the seat belt.
Coaster Mania Was An Absolute Blast!
We got up at 5am, and left the hotel by 5:30. Got there and got in right at 6:00 am. Did a quick lap on TTD once they'd tested it enough. From there, I went over to MF and rode the red train in the back seat. I like the increased airtime back there, and I like the more accomodating belts in the back of the red train. went back to TTd for another ride, and just barely missed the morning rollback of black cherry (darn!) We went and had coffee and donuts at donut time, and when they opened maXair for the JCC, I got in a ride on it. I then went and rode Magnum twice as it was fiorst opening. Magnum is my favorite coaster in the world (my wife refers to it as my mistress) but the turnaround is definitely rougher before it gets warmed up.
Nighttime ERT I planned to spend Entirely on Magnum, riding in seat 1-3 (as I always do) After two rides getting off and back on, on the third ride, there was nobody in line for my seat, so I was allowed to stay on. That was a lifetime dream fulfilled for me! Then, when returning on that ride, I got the same thing again- three rides in a row!!! had to get off after the next ride, and got right back on, where I was able to do two more in a row. After the seventh spin within one hour, my thighs were pretty sore from the ejector air.(which was enhanced by the blissful lack of trim brakes!) I decided to go and try to get a last ride on Raptor. I hightailed it over to Raptor, where I was able to get three rides in the last row, and another ride in the front row. That's a total of eleven coaster rides in 1.5 hours. Pretty decent!
Here's the score (multiple laps in parenthesis) for the coasters I hit:
TTD (X2)- 7/10
MF- 9/10
Magnum- morning before warmup (X2) 8/10, afternoon (X2) 10/10, Evening ERT with trims off (X7) 11/10
Raptor-(X5) 8/10
Disaster transport (I coined a new name- Halfasster Transport)- 5/10
Gemini- 7/10
CCMR- Needs a repaint badly 6/10
Blue Streak- 7/10
Iron Dragon (X3) 7/10
Corkscrew- 6/10
Mean Streak- I have mixed emotions about MS, it is the most beautiful coaster I've ever seen, but it is the worst riding coaster I've ever ridden. I heard it had some retracking, so I gave it another chance. Mistake -0/10 The only time in my life I was on a coaster wishing the ride would end. I WANT to love it, but it's too brutal for even ME.
Mantis- I have a history of bashing Mantis, and had ZERO intention of riding it again, but when they started it up, I heard the whoosh of new B&M wheels, and decided to give it another chance. It HAS been rewheeled!!!! In 2003 I would have rated it 2/10, but On Friday, I was happy to give it a 7/10, and a rightfully deserved promotion to 2nd best stand up I've ridden. (moved past King Kobra, but still not as good as Chang)
"Flat" rides I rode:
MaXair- (X2) 10/10 my new favorite flat.
Power Tower (once launched, once dropped) 9/10
Chaos- 6/10 great ride, but Cp ride cycles are VERY short compared to the times at Indiana Beach.
Demon Drop- 7/10
Giant Wheel- 4/10 Nice view, but slow, high rides scare the crap out of me. I'll ride TTD with my hands in the air, but on a ferris wheel, I'm white knuckles all the way.
Space Spiral- 3/10- see above.
The MOST important rating of the day
Staff- 15/10! I never have experienced a staff that was this great, even at CP. it seemed that everyone was really enjoying helping us coaster geeks have a great time. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and seemed to have great attitudes. The rides were great, but the staff is what made the day truly exceptional. For any staffer from Friday who is reading this- THANKS!!!!!! Your efforts are very much appreciated.
^I agree with almost all your ride ratings, at least the ones I rode as well. except M-force is more like a 13/10 and Maggie (durring ERT) is like a 12/10
